The NFL Thread 2: 1. T Swift

I thought it was kinda dumb to go after AR in the first place when your conference has Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, etc. That’s quite the gauntlet to attempt with a 39-40 year QB.

Yeah, although the alternative is to roll with Zack Wilson or take whatever the best QB was available at 15 two drafts ago (Levis maybe? lolol) in which case they’re basically in the same exact spot as they are now and everybody still gets canned. I doubt they could have traded up enough to get Stroud or even Richardson. (And let’s face it, it’s the Jets; even if they pull off some miracle trade to move up, they probably somehow wind up with Bryce Young.)

Geno Smith and Sam Darnold are currently NFL starting QB’s and everyone’s assuming Wilson’s a bust. He hasn’t started in a NFL organization yet. Yes it doesn’t look good but if I’m whoever doesn’t take a QB in the draft but probably needs one I’d take a flier after the broncos cut him at least for salary reasons. You may have to act like he’s a rookie tho cause jets/hackett.

“if only they had someone competent they win 10 games” you mean like future hall of famer Aaron Rodgers like most people thought.

The Jets just went if only we had another star WR, nope, if only we had a pass rusher, nope, if only we had… nope. nope nope nope nope

any GM gets fired because you win or you get fired, he did not win

Taking fashanu but no plans to start him right away (they signed tyron smith to play left tackle fashanu is a left tackle) instead of bowers (who I thought shouldn’t have gotten out of the top 10 of the draft) was a real head scratcher with rodgers age. They just didn’t have a plan other than let’s try this and see what happens.

Meanwhile, Steelers are 8-2 with dumping the young first round QB in pickett plan for whoever they could get off the scrap heap.

I was screaming into the void for Dolphins to do this. They did not listen.

they did start 4-2 with a dumped young first round QB from another team though.

Tua is better than the steelers QB’s, we’re just all afraid he’s gonna die or be unable to utter complete understandable sentences. At the very least if he throws a pick he is not allowed to go anywhere near the ball again trying to tackle.

I think my thoughts on Tua are well known, so hard disagree for me, obviously.

I’ve been saying I’d trade Tua for Fields straight up even before the season.

okay Tua’s thrown more interceptions but his passing stats are definitively better. 59-47 games and Tua’s thrown for 2x the yards and touchdowns.

Tua’s a system QB with a better surrounding cast and a coach that built an offense to his strengths.

Fields can run and has escapability. Tua can’t run and is a sitting duck back there. You can blame the swiss cheese O-line, but the reality of the NFL is every team is gonna have O-line problems now and then. A good QB can overcome that. Even some bad QBs can (like Fields). Tua cannot. Furthermore, the implications of him being unable to do this are very different than they are for most.

as a bears fan, Fields did not overcome that.

Fields has been sacked 50 more times than Tua has in fewer games played. (151-101)

At this point, I sometimes hope he dies on the field.

I was talking about Tua not Aaron Rodgers

edit–joking of course, Aaron can just go away in his darkness retreats and just stay there and leave us alone

Fields sucks lol

Tua sucks more.

Tua is elite

Don’t do it. It’s a cheap QB week already and there is good value on skill position guys too. Punting QB doesn’t make sense to me on this slate.

I mean you could sprinkle him in if you’re doing hundreds of lineups but i think you handbuild just a few right?
