No wonder why Americans are stereotyped in Europe as knowing nothing about geography.

If you could poll all Americans over 21, “Portugal” may be in the upper 50% of responses.

Ask Europeans to name a Great Lake.

They can’t do it. They don’t even think the lakes are good.

Bet more Americans can get the capital of Spain than Europeans can get the capital of California, despite their comparable populations (~50M and ~40M). Does that mean that Europeans are also bad at geography, or just that people generally don’t know geographic details of places far from them.

It’s literally LeBron, AD and trash

It’s not so much about knowing the capital, but knowing a modicum of world history.

Learned in US schools?

He probably wanted to make sure he wasn’t a fuckin nerd.

You would be surprised.

Geography is a separate subject in school in Europe.

I mostly learned it as an aside to history class and since most of my history classes were American history, we didn’t learn much about the rest of the world.

He’s washed, isn’t he?

13th in tackles last year and second team all-pro seems ok to me. He should make everyone around him better and $7M seems reasonable to me.

That’s better than I thought. I was just going by the few times I happened to see him play. I don’t remember being that impressed.

Lol

No argument here

wagner was good last year but he’ll be 33. trying to think of a LB outside of like ray lewis who was still pretty good then (urlacher made a PB at that age but was clearly on the decline then and retired the year after)

Von Miller got injured. Lavonte David is 33 this season (yeah seems like he’s been around forever too)

Bobby lost a step in 2021 and doesn’t have quite the speed or range that he used to. I wouldn’t have paid him what the Rams did last year. $7m 1 year is a good deal for a lock-HOF defensive captain who can still ball. The Hawks had a huge hole at ILB with Brooks likely not ready to start the year and it was an obvious fit if they could make the numbers work for both sides.

Plus his approval rating among Hawks fans is 100% and they will sell $7m worth of throwback stoner-Seahawk Wagner jerseys this year.

Wait what? We had to learn Theodor Fontane’s “John Maynard” so Lake Erie is known. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
