That was the deal with San Fran trading up to #3. Rumor was always that Kyle wanted Mac but they couldnāt pass on the āvalueā of Lance. They just knew they wanted to draft a qb.
Same thing with NYJ a few years earlier. Most thought theyād end up with Baker but they were fine with whomever ended up being available.

just funny how similar rodgers and favres careers end up if heās traded at age 38 to the Jets (like favre), one super bowl at the same age, crapped the bed in the playoffs repeatedly after that, ended packers tenure with terrible interceptions for a brutal elimination loss.

Assuming Rodgers leaves, I am actually interested to see what the young guys can do. Not as interested as I was in the transition from Favre to Rodgers, but still curious. In the little action he saw this past season, Love definitely looked like he knew what he was doing. Doubs and Watson look like they could be really good (not saying theyāll be All-Pros in year two or anything) and I liked what I saw in Toure in the little bit he played. So it could be fun to watch the second year receivers with Love, even if there are growing pains. They could grab a TE early in the draft, too. And if it doesnāt work, well, Iāll just fire everyone.
If Iām the Jets you gotta put that foot down, we are not paying Randall Cobb and Mercedes Lewis at this point in their careers man. They are done man. Let them go. Glue guys or not, there is not enough space on a roster for this.
