I just severely leveled myself, having stared at that nightmarish thing more than once.

Ding ding ding

I’ve never seen it. ā€œorange glass snake chandelierā€ got me to Dale Chihuly and then that got me to the Borgata.

Good, I was hoping it would get solved by someone not familiar with the Borgata art.

It’s harder to post pictures than it is to solve them.

I stumbled across what I think is a pretty good pic today if anybody is in need.

Well zz is here… he’s definitely the favorite to get this one.

Looks similar to a copper pipe cleaner for solder prep, but considering it’s you I’m going to guess some sort of deburring tool for EMT.

I posted a pic of my reamer already!

If no one gets it pretty soon I’ll post a better angle. I was hiding the other side because I thought it might be a:

Ok, here’s the other side. Actually a big part of the knowledge of being an electrician (or other trades I’m sure…especially plumber) is learning the parts.

As a bonus, zz, what is wrong with my gate? (I’m told there’s something wrong. I wouldn’t have known/didn’t know) (not talking abut the weeds)

Still not sure what the dingus is. Assume threaded end goes into a J box. It’s a waterproof coupling for… idk. PVC conduit?

Not really sure on the gate either. Needs a fresh coat of stain imo.

Close enough. You win. It’s a connector (that’s the thing that goes into a jbox) for liquid tight, which is the flexible plasticy conduit (non-metallic - there’s also metallic liquid tight that has a Mr. Octopus like metal interior).

I was told that the diagonal brace goes the wrong way and that makes the gate less supported in the direction you want to keep it from sagging.

That doesn’t really make sense. The diagonal keeps it from racking in either direction, which will by default help prevent sagging as it makes the whole thing a rigid plane.

I understand the thinking, but I think it would only really matter if it was just the frame with no panels.

Googling suggests that it is better for the brace to be in compression than tension and it’s in tension on my gate.
