I dunno. Joey B spent most of his formative years in Athens, Oh, which has been reliably blue. It’s still small town Ohio, but OU was always considered one of the more liberal places in the state.
Which will make it even more disappointing, i guess

I mean, Athens the college is obviously pretty liberal but the surrounding area is among the most deplorable-heavy in the entire U.S.
Yep, among white athletes it’s like 90%, perfect combination of high likelihood of being raised deplorable and making enough $$$ to get furious about paying taxes. Country club and country boy Republican wrapped in one.
Rooting for the Trumpkin MLB owners and players to both negotiate like the Trumpkins they are and cancel the season.
Oh I know. I grew up in Oxford, which is pretty similar. The people in town and associated with Miami tended to be liberal. The farm people were rednecks and racists. But Athens County is still better than Butler, just look at election results. There’s enough townies in Athens co. for it to have gone blue in 2016 and 2018.
I kinda wish my dad had chosen there to teach, lol.

That was my thought regarding NFL this season about this–some locker rooms are gonna be wild this year just from politics. SF already imploded over this once.

I really want to believe that they’re not going to play. That large group of these guys will say eff the risk of corona and then another big group will say eff the racism and let Dru stand for the anthem and put the NFL in the worst possible spot ever.
Anyone know of a white athlete that you are sure is legit good about this type of stuff?
It’s pretty sad that the only one I can think of, Bill Lee, retired like 40 years ago.
