The National Football League

Are we certain that the 2019 fins aren’t a historically bad NFL team? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team so blatantly tank.

Again I’m not saying that Bama would have a real shot of winning… just that the gap between the Pats and the fins might be bigger than the gap between the fins and Bama.

It also bears mentioning that the 2019 Pats have a real shot of being damn near perfect in the NFL assuming they get to keep AB.

I guess anything is possible. Dolphins are very bad for sure but I wouldn’t commit to “historically” bad after only two games, one of which was against the Pats.

The handicapper who set that line at the time said something along the lines of, “Bama has a lot of players on their roster who are good enough to make it to the NFL. All of Cleveland’s players fit that description.”

Glad the cowboys get to play the afc east this year even with the patriots.

But lol at the patriots having the weakest overall division for like 20 years. Makes football a lot easier.

I love the NFL

The Pats winning percent outside of the division is very close to the same as inside the division.

Yeah but cmon that’s not holding this year, maybe the Bills steal one but probably not and they’re sweeping the others easily

Yeah… your division is going to look bad with the Pats in it.

Yeah but I was responding to a comment about the last 20 years.

Dolphins would absolutely manhandle Alabama on the lines. If you could magically age Alabama 4-5 years with 4-5 years of strength training, then it might be a game.

The whole “best college team vs. worst NFL team” debate is like the least interesting sports argument ever. NFL wins on 4 years of pro-caliber strength training and 'roids alone. Why do we keep arguing about this ever year.

In that case, without Cam week 3 my line becomes Panthers -2.5(-103)

Cam is worth slightly more than my adjustment implies, but my previous line factored in him being <100%.

The Argos, the worst CFL team would beat Bama by 35. The Dolphins would beat the best CFL team by 28+. If the Phins tried and took it seriously they would beat Bama by 70.

Alabama has a chance if you take the same team and give them professional training for 3 years.

Bro, you can’t spell “elite” without Eli.

It’s going to tilt me when he gets in.

For your week 4, pretty good - but if KC this week is 6.5 at home over Balt, they’re gonna be 8+ over Detroit, no?

Ah sorry, I meant to say KC @ Det. Yeah if it were in KC it would be KC-10

And I’m an idiot cause I thought the game was in KC. Nevermind.

I am really worried about this Cowboys / dolphins game.

On paper it seems a 20ish point victory is guaranteed. I see no way the cowboys don’t score in the thirties for the third week. And their defense is good enough to limit the dolphins.

But it feels like a devastating trap. So easy to take this week for granted as players. Hard to get up to maximum intensity every week and has to be really hard to get up for this dolphins team.

I guess I am worried about the embarrassment of losing to this dolphins team as a cowboys fan, even though Miami shed another player in a trade.

But I have never seen an nfl team essentially quit the season in week 3. Too many players and coaches have their own careers to worry about and don’t benefit from tanking. So anything could happen.
