Oh yeah it sure is. They wasn’t arrests and prosecutions over the requirements to use the dangerous, failed vaccine and for the higely damaging, overly onerous mitigations.
Anti vaxx rhetoric is going to be a part of the R political playbook for decades now. Once they latch on to something they won’t let it go. And just like on abortion, they’re going to do the leg work of getting hard line anti vaxxers in all the lower levels of government and in the judiciary. They aren’t just going to fight COVID vaccines, they’re going to try to ban mandatory vaccination of all kinds. Diseases that were largely eliminated by science in the 20th century are going to come roaring back and the SC is going to tell you that the founders never intended for us to give kids shots to stop them from dying horrible deaths, so fuck you. Good times coming in USA#1.

In my anecdotal experience, yeah. They will still grumble about masks and vaccines and shutdowns when it comes up around them.
The state can force a woman to carry a fetus to term for the sake of the future child, but the state can’t force parents to vaccinate their children from horrible diseases because freedom! Makes perfect sense.
some of the twitter pundits are saying deSantis is going hard in the paint on this to distract from his friend/ally and donor committing suicide while under sexual crimes investigation.
