OTPP is one of the most successful pension plans in the world and Ontario teachers are paid more than anywhere else in North America I think. There’s actually too many teachers in Ontario, it’s really hard to get a job and their union is one of the strongest unions around.
This guy has defrauded customers to the tune of billions, has admitted to his fraudulence through messages an his own Tweets, and has yet to be arrested.
Meanwhile, every day Joe Black Guy is getting stomped down by cops just for driving his car and minding his own business.
What a world we live in.

Literally any level of due diligence would have uncovered the fraud! Any bank in the country does more due diligence before originating a 200k mortgage.

No, the story about awice losing his entire net worth on FTX comes from awice directly.
I tend to believe it although “entire net worth” might be overstated, maybe it’s like 90%. He was asking for job offers on Twitter and I don’t think he’d joke about getting wiped out by FTX because a lot of people in the crypto space were. Not really an occasion for humour.
