I’ve posted that exact graph probably 20 times. The split is so clear at such an instant that I think there must be some very specific things that happened right then. Oil crisis? Off the gold standard? Changes in corporate law? Changes in banking/finance laws?
I think maybe some of that is an illusion and it’s that what productivity is measuring has changed somehow to some degree. Some sorts of financialized not-productive productivity is being counted somehow.
I don’t know why the Trumpbot was started, but if it were banned, people would just be quoting Trump tweets and we’d be run over by a stampede of Trump ponies. It’s existence probably makes the forum more manageable and readable.
I have no intention to boycott Twitter. Has anyone ITT expressed doing so specifically because of Trump?
Trump generates original content. The Trumpbot, which is not a person, reposts it. It is not against forum policies to quote Trump, nor should it be. The Trumpbot is just an automated method of doing that. So, the answer to your question is “no”. It would be different if Donald Trump was an active poster and his stuff was being tolerated.
Lets say Bernie won the 2016 nomination and then pulled the same numbers as Clinton. Then lets say all the Russia stuff comes out before inauguration. Now lets say Bernie holds this weird ceremony where he gets sworn in in Vermont. (I know none of this would happen obviously). What percentage of people on this forum support a move like that?
That second one has to be pretty much a heat map of racism.
In retrospect, Missouri and Ohio were only bellwethers for all those years because racists were in unions and maybe there was still a tiny bit of that “never vote for a Republican ever” hangover among the very olds. SE Missouri is literally the South - comical accent and everything.
I gave up on OH an MO long ago, but we need some kind of Berlin Airlift for TX and GA. If GA and TX go the way of VA over the next 15 years there can be actual structural, constitutional reform.
