I am having a non-Miller-lite beer for the first time in a billion years
Why is it sideways
Anyway this shit is pretty watery, basically just a fancy Miller lite
Oh that reminds me, earlier this week I was in Raleigh NC for some internal company meetings, stopped in a bar before a meet up with coworkers, ordered a Negroni and the guy was like “we don’t have Campari but I got something you’ll probably like” and it was amazing.
Again everything is sideways wtf
Hmm, it should definitely have some prominent malt character as compared to a lite American lager. Maybe a bad example of a Helles.
Good amaros can take a cocktail to the next level. I’m always seeking new ones to try when I travel or go to a fancy liquor store.
Are you sure you’re not wasted and laying on the ground?
Does anyone drink vermouth? My friend is a wine/liquor rep and last time I stayed at his house he has his bar refrigerator designated as the “vermouth fridge” and we tried like a dozen different vermouths. I don’t remember any of the brands lmao. Dude has legit 500+ bottles of wine in his house alone and more somewhere else from a cellar at an estate sale. I love staying at his house for concerts!
Grunched this entire thread so apologies if this has been discussed .
Anybody try the Johnnie Walker rye? I like Johnnie black and blue, and I like rye. Seems like it’d be a good fit for me, but I haven’t tasted it yet.
I’ve tasted vermouth outside of cocktails to get a better sense of what I’m working with, but I can’t say I’d ever want to order one straight.
I was very surprised at the taste of some.
I drank a fair amount of vermouth when in Barcelona and it’s a pretty popular drink there. They typically serve it on ice with an orange slice and a green olive. It was a fine beverage, but I didn’t continue to drink it when arriving back in the states.
Grand Mayan Ultra Anjeo! I enjoy it neat.
Tis fire.
Another one, Tequila Diablito
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.oldtowntequila.com/amp/123-organic-extra-anejo-tequila-diablito/
For the toppest of shelves
Mezcal >> Tequila
I do not still swear by cristalinos; that seemed to be a phase that has come and gone. Let me think it over… I feel like for the most part, any label that makes a good blanco will make a good anejo, too.
for the record, some of my other favorite blancos include
Fortaleza
Pasote
Azunia
Tequila Ocho
Siete Leguas
Don Abraham
Herencia Mexicana
Varying price points and all there; I might have more I’d recommend in my collection.
I’ll look through my notes to see if I have anything about any other specific anejos. The label will drive up the price but Don Julio 1942 is still quite good. Tequila Matchmaker is a useful resource as well.
Sweet vermouth on the rocks with a twist.
