I hear you. Related to one of my other posts - Republicans use fear of socialism to get people to object to new social programs. The counter argument needs to be to use anger to motivate people to demand change. This a foundational flaw in Dem messaging. The most inspiring progressive narrative is anger at the rich. Call it class warfare if you want but it works. How many fucking BMWs do bankers need before single moms can have a living wage?

What part is she wrong about exactly? Talking to these people on their level seems to be a significant issue for the left. That is, theyāre utterly incapable of lowering themselves to these peopleās level. Sometimes you need to talk to a child like a child, after all.

Grunching, but similarly on Florida, I donāt see how the same state that voted overwhelmingly to let felons vote (against R opposition), could also vote so heavily for Trump.

This would cost us votes in CA from people who drive BMWās and win us votes in KS. Itās the obvious direction we should be going.
We are doing way too well with people who care about personal pronouns while not even contesting like 40 of the Senate seats. This is political malpractice and it needs to stop.
Iām not saying we stop caring about social issues, but they need to not even be part of the pitch. The pitch is about what weāre going to do for normal people full stop. Explained simply and clearly. Repeat ad nauseum. If they try to ask you a question about anything else you donāt answer that question and talk about your message instead. If thereās a single fucking thing we could learn from the Trump era itās that answering the mediaās pretty terrible questions is a leak. They donāt control the narrative, we control the narrativeā¦ but only if we refuse to talk about anything else and just look at the reporter like theyāre stupid when they try to change the subject.
Seriously if you ask a ton of questions about divisive shit to one of our people you should lose access as a reporter. Weāre feeding the other side sound bites at this point at a ridiculous pace.

Here in Taiwan, Iāve met plenty of Taiwanese who want Trump to win and there is even a stronger pro-Trump sentiment in Hong Kong.
This is definitely largely a result of limited understandings of US politics beyond Trump being āanti-PRCā. Itās understandable but imo highly naive.
I bring up to people that Beijing hasnāt hesitated one moment wrt their HK agenda because they fear Trump, and the threats and military activities related to Taiwan this year are unprecedented.
The trade war is cited, but what has that accomplished? More importantly, what is it even attempting to accomplish?
I think there are specific targets where trade war-ish policies may be rational (ensuring stronger IP protections, for example) but the Trump administrationās strategy vis a vis China is non-sense. Their objective, as far as I can tell, is to magically turn the clock back on China and have them somehow not be a major player. Thats ridiculous, pointless, and just fucking stupid.

My argument is that Dem voters or potential voters are not smarter or morally superior to Republicans. Their biases just happened to land them on the right side. We shouldnāt have campaigns based on the presumption that Democrats are better people.
