Does give off a kind of minimalist East German vibe
It’s weird how I can see my avatar by the hamburger menu but not on my posts.
We’ve solved identity politics.
Forum seems smoother today, no glitches at all when scrolling this fine morning.
Some avaitors are back, only a few like Rexx and Von Internet are missing for me.
Thanks again to the excellent admins team
I’m going to replace my missing avatar with a Twitter egg.
If you’re impatient waiting for me to find a fix to the avatar issue (and I’m still not positive I will), you can reupload your current one if it is slightly edited in any way. You can make it a little bit bigger or smaller, or even just change one pixel. Any change at all so it is not literally the exact same file as before.
I converted mine from jpg to png and it seems to be back.
Could this be some kind of CDN problem?
No, we don’t use a CDN. Somebody else on the support forum has had the exact same problem before and it was crickets from the Discourse team. I’m not expecting much better.
Changing your avatar slightly allows a reupload because it’s a new hash value.
I remember when avatars moved and shit, now I feel privileged to have one at all!
All avatars work for me now but like half the images still don’t display on mobile
At 3.0 update this place becomes a newsgroup
I see my avatar on the app but not on my laptop
Can you link to posts where images don’t display?
Just here to floss with my new avi.
Thanks, I’ll investigate.
The images are all there if you click, which is an improvement from where things stood 24 hours ago, but yeah lots of images are still missing their thumbnails. I’m hoping one of these 400k queued jobs takes care of it, since they weren’t there 24 hours ago either.
Yes I can click on the images and see them
zikzak the job creator!
Jobs jobs jobs!
The lost avatar thingy gave me a good excuse to get a new one.

Wanted to credit the artist and also thank those in the engine room at UP for guiding us through the choppy waters of a Discourse Update
