The images are all there if you click, which is an improvement from where things stood 24 hours ago, but yeah lots of images are still missing their thumbnails. I’m hoping one of these 400k queued jobs takes care of it, since they weren’t there 24 hours ago either.

Not trying to add things to anyone’s to-do list, just documenting some of the things that still seem to have been broken by the update:
- I think previews are still a bit hosed, at least for the twitter links I’ve seen. Maybe other previews, not sure.
- Most avatars are appearing when I browse on my computer, but some that I can see on my computer still appear as the empty figure when I browse on my phone.
- Likewise, some pictures appear on my phone but still have the broken image thumbnail when I view on my computer. (I can click the thumbnail to see full-size image on my computer.)
It’s really weird.
There are still 1/4 million unprocessed jobs in the queue. Until those all complete we don’t really know what is going to resolve itself and what we need to address manually.
As for embeds and previews, we’re probably being rate limited by some sites since we’ve been hammering them for 2 days trying to rebuild all the posts.

For the record, this isn’t just the result of a software update. It’s mostly a long, uninteresting story, but the cliffs are that a routine task shit the bed about 3/4 of the way through, and all of these subsequent jobs that should have happened automatically and seamlessly instead had to be bludgeoned into compliance.
Beginning last night I lost my avatar on my Android phone although it still shows up on my Windows laptop.
Fwiw Twitter has never displayed properly for me on mobile (iPhone) regardless of iOS version since we moved here from the other site whose name escapes me atm
Can confirm favicon loads again.
I do not even know if I changed anything tbh…

Could the differences be between what’s locally cached by the browser? Early on in the issue I flushed the cache for this site on my laptop to see if that helped, instead I lost even more avatars. Now I have very few on the laptop, but my phone still shows a fair amount.
