I’m planning to hit the supermarket 4-5x this week. 10 liter jugs of water are popular here and I have a convenience store next door, so should be easy enough to stock up.
Empty shelves and food shortages here would be brutal. I’m a bit afraid what might happen.
Totally random selection of Idaho that I just posted about.
He said health and welfare was urging him not to close schools. Boise (220k) and the surrounding 3 towns (with 70k+), each still are closing along with Blaine county where there were two positive tests (near Twin Falls), along with Coeur d’Alane which is right next to Spokane and has 50k as well.
He’s only a few months into his first term fwiw. Just giving additional context to your sample of one. Idaho’s right-wing government sucks, but being surrounded by good states does raise the floor somewhat.
it’s shocking. he’s basically taking the lead in… the whole country? i mean i’m in youngstown so i obv get more local news than anyone not in ohio, but yeah like… where TF did this come from? he’s making some tough decisions sooner than anyone else it seems, AND having legislation ready behind those decisions to minimize the impact.
I once went on 6 online dates in 3 days here in Mexico (well 5, b/c one cancelled), but I could only keep up that pace a week or 2 before getting burnt out. I totally agree though, juggling 3-4 was enough for me at 36 years old. It gets to be more hassle than it’s worth although having options is always nice.
wiper and fossil, you are single guys and live alone and choose to do all this woman juggling and internet dating when you could just have peace and quiet and be left alone? Hmmm, different strokes I guess.
I have a feeling this CA telling 65-year-olds to stay inside is going to become a huge right-wing talking/conspiracy nutter talking point. It hits all the buttons - California, war on olds, govt coercion. This is the first step to death camps folks. Wake up!
Especially because the only way I see out of this in under a year and a half is if we let the youngs go about their business (with constant testing) and make the olds stay inside and isolated.
65 is not that old. Plenty of people that age doing vital stuff. And a blanket “don’t go outside” is ridiculous. Like taking a walk would be a good thing. It’s probably nothing that will be enforced, but it was a dumb way to put what should have been a PSA. Hell, 65 year olds might be busy taking care of their parents.
not sure if this was meant for me, but i’ve been going to AA for ~3 months or so. only (yeah i know this isn’t great but it is for me) have drank 8 days this year, and 5 of those were < 3 beers just to be able to f’ing sleep.
that’s probably where the extra sex drive came from, i dunno.
I’ve been in a relationship for 10 months. My goal has been an LTR for a couple years, but I’ve traveled a ton and found myself in situations where I’d only be staying 3, 6, or 9 months in a place, so under those circumstances I was glad to play the field. But I’m very happy now having found a great girl, and after having been on 100+ first dates over the past couple years, when you meet a girl who makes you think “wow, she’s incredible”, you can be pretty sure she’s the one.
What I’m getting at is that at some point there may be a choice - do we all stay on lockdown and watch the economy contract to nothing - or do we find a way for the people who are at low risk to go out and work and spend money and do the stuff that keeps the economy going? Which could never work w/o constant testing and isolation of anyone who tests positive.
