SARS-CoV-2: Electric Superflu

I think it doesn’t matter much. Flu doesn’t really spread in the summer because we have immunity via vaccines and previous infections, oh and it doesn’t like warm weather. So the flu needs pretty ideal weather conditions for it to spread. A flu like virus that humidity and temperature sensitive would still spread like wildfire in a population that has zero immunity.

I know that’s not what I said. But my reply to you doesn’t contradict what I said earlier; if the death rate is around 1% and tens of millions get it then there will be an absolutely massive testing effort. In the (unlikely imo) scenario where tens of millions of Americans have it right now, then that implies a death rate much much lower than 1%. And sure, if that’s the case then there might not be huge testing push because it won’t be as impactful.

Cuomo’s press conferences have said 53,000 hospital beds in state and 3,000 ICU beds (before adding any of the new ventilators)

Total beds in NYC seems to be around 20,000

Can someone make this into a target size poster sheet?

I posted an expert earlier who said it seems to be cold, dry air between 25 and 50 F.

I also think population density plays a gigantic role. NYC is one of the few places in the US as dense as Chinese cities or most Euro cities.

I’ve been checking out that site for the past week or so. It looks like we went into lockdown about 3 weeks earlier than the early range of the “last date” recommended by that modeling. And although we haven’t done a ton of tests, we’ve done more than many states and only have about a 4% positive rate right now. Many states have done fewer tests with a much higher rate of positive tests. I was hoping (maybe falsely) that we might be in ok shape, but recognize we’re probably just as fucked as everywhere else eventually.

Can anyone good at geometry estimate his neck size in case I want to buy him a dress shirt?

Yeah I talked about it. Except for a little while one of the sites was showing it as 6500 or something - which I was really curious about.

They just need to get the police and move in to the place. Fuck this negotiation shit.

This guest on CNN right now has an awesome study

They are talking about it. Whether you can trust what they say is another matter.

Deborah Birx, the White House coronavirus task force coordinator, on Tuesday said that multiple antibody tests were being examined by the Food and Drug Administration, which last month relaxed its rules on market use of body fluid tests.

“What has been pretty good about the coronaviruses in general is they keep their structural pieces very similar,” Birx said in a virtual town hall hosted by Fox News. “We believe that anybody who becomes positive and makes effective antibody – because there are some people who can’t make as good of antibody as others – but if you make effective antibody, you shouldn’t get re-infected.”

She said similar stuff today at the WH press conference.

OK, that’s it, I am through indulging his impertinent insistence that his name is pronounced koe-mee. He is now James Cummy, formerly Special Agent Cummy of the FBI. Mrs Cummy’s little boy Jimmy, that’s him.

She didn’t shred him. People are idiots. Having him on is disgraceful.

The media is, fundamentally, LAZY AS FUCK.

Do real reporting. Don’t read a number off a page. Get out into the real world and do your fucking job. Every one of these hosts is a boarding school/Ivy League mega entitled shitbag, and it shows.

I agree 1000%. But she is not a reporter. Blame the dipshit who agreed to have Navarro appear on CNN to spread his insulting self-serving deadly propaganda.
