SARS-CoV-2: Electric Superflu

679 new cases in Massachusetts today seems bad

Even in a state with some of the most restrictive gun laws, gun stores are deemed essential and can stay open. USA#1. Ugh.

Well if grocery stores being open is justified by people needing food the gun stores have to stay open for the same reason just a few weeks later.

Man, I dunno. Seems like the experts would all be screaming at us to all wear masks if they really are that effective. Just seems like Japan should be getting clobbered by this, but it’s only reporting 45 deaths.Or maybe the experts are dummies and these masks are key.

Sleep tight everyone.

So tomorrow the US takes our spot at the top of the list. So depressing and preventable.

There’s nothing else to explain it.

Even before the outbreak about 60-70% of the population was in winter flu-season mask mode.

Since CV, the mask-wearing rate is up to at least 90%, and for those who aren’t wearing one it’s only because they aren’t available.

China makes everyone wear masks in public. I know they lie and everything but their scientists aren’t dumb.

My guess is the WHO and the CDC don’t want to start a mask panic until they can hand out surgical masks for pretty much everyone on earth.

I mean how could it not help? Your breath droplets and sputum mostly going into the mask, a few squirting out the side and bouncing around your face - vs. your breath droplets and sputum spewing straight out into the air unimpeded at good velocity like a glorious fountain?

Maybe if you live with someone it doesn’t matter. But in public it has to help slow the spread.

We’ve been through this one thousand times. Masks are effective. The reason they’re telling the masses otherwise is because there are no masks, and they are trying to get as many as they can to healthcare workers, where the risk is much higher, and the masks more valuable.

They haven’t even locked down. Orlando and Tampa start tomorrow. Florida Man In Chief is still worried about people flying in.

The factory has a new plan!

Note the sick time being used first, we get 40 hours but it takes a year to regen a day, so we have to use it first. If before a year is out someone uses it all and then is out for any reason, it’s the sack.

I suppose it’s better than no plan. But they’ll be damned if they shut us down.

A good refutation of the “Quarantine is Satanism” article

Tobacco and guns. CT’s two most surprising large industries.

It may have changed, but a few days ago in LA you needed to say you had traveled - just showing symptoms wasn’t enough to get tested.

To be clear: I’m not disputing that they’re effective, it’s just that Japan is a country with people who are jam-packed together and they have lots of elderly people and it’s hard to believe masks alone are the reason they have only 45 deaths. Maybe it’s a lot of things? Maybe it’s masks plus bowing instead of shaking hands plus generally being better about washing your hands and staying home when you are sick? Plus who knows if there are genetic differences in the host response, if the strain over there is the same, diet and exercise, etc. etc. etc.

Basically we all need to be more like Japan right now, and that includes watching sumo tournaments. Because what other sports are you going to watch right now, there aren’t any.

They also bow and don’t hug their parents and are clean freaks.

Not the same thing as live virus.

re hospitalization “data,” check out this thread. Alabama is underreporting, not just suspected cases but confirmed too.

Chalk up another death that won’t be counted under corona but is an indirect result.

This is hilarious. And very serious.

The people who live in this building should extend mutual aid to their parasite, this err, person, who would gladly have them all violently thrown out in the streets… if they thought they could immediately profit from it. In a heartbeat, in normal times. They should extend this, err person, mutual aid.

A 32 unit building surely has an office, or rec-room, or other inhabitable space. They should give their permissions and not to evict the landlord from such space. Then they should all chip-in, and buy the landlord groceries, delivered to that space, each and every week. The landlord should also be invited, but not compelled, to chip in themselves, and help with the building maintenance.

Thus, the true nature of the landlord-renter relationship would be make clear and obvious: the landlord is the parasite, the renters are the hosts.

Sounds like a win - 32 wins solution to me !!!1!
