LOL Obama cranking out replacement level nonsense tweets. What a breathtaking lack of leadership.
My wife works HR in a multi-billion dollar food packaging/cup company, they don’t seem to be taking this very seriously at all. They are still going full force. They are still having her conduct interviews in person, instead of by phone.
One line employee or equivalent had a cough today and was sent home. He doesn’t get paid sick leave. They are obviously >500 employees so they got the nice loophole in the recent bill. Employee says he checked at home and he’s not running a fever. Company can’t check because they don’t have any fucking thermometers and say they can’t get any. Employee doesn’t have a regular doctor, and hasn’t talked to any health professional except a company nurse that doesn’t even have access to a fucking thermometer. So they tell him he can come back to work since he says he’s not running a fever. Probably just allergies they say. Manager is refusing to come in to work if the employee is there. Company tells manager he can take vacation if he’s not comfortable being there. Company is more worried about other workers faking sick to get out of work than actually protecting workers.
Another employee has many underlying health issues. She’s using all of her vacation time for the year right now to try and protect herself. No clue what she will do when she runs out shortly.
I’m about to tell my wife to tell them shove the job up their ass, but then we will be scrambling for health insurance at a bad time.
What a great health system we have. Between this and the woman who died at home because she was more afraid of the bill. Just the type of person the sacrifice to the Dow Joans
All so the company can suck up to Trump and say they are sending x tablets of a drug that probably doesn’t even help.
US deaths over 1000 according to the 1.3 acres site
For those of you that know me personally, I’d ask that you keep this to CP and off of any other forms of social media…feel free to PM me here if you want to chat.
Sunday overnight, I had the worst coughing fit of my life. Damn near puked on several occasions. Woke up with a tight chest, a pounding headache, body aches and a temperature that was all over the map. Reached 101.7 at one point, as as low as 96.5 at another.
Called the hotline and met the criteria to test - but only because I was recently in California. Was told that the symptoms alone were not enough to warrant a test. Earliest they could get me in to test was today. Symptoms have not lessened, and the body aches have gotten worse. Was told that rest and hydration was really all I could do at this point, and that treatment would be the same even if I test positive. Only way they’ll admit me is if my breathing becomes more labored.
Literally have zero energy. It takes a massive amount of effort just to get to the bathroom. Shit, it’s taken me like 10 minutes to type this out. If I don’t have CV, I’d love to know WTF it is, because it’s unlike anything I’ve ever had before.
Anyway, take this shit seriously. Stay the **** home if you can.
Socially distant hugs and kisses,
From chiefsplanet. Apparently the midwest is still clinging to recent travel as a testing criteria. This is some fucking Kafkaesque shit man.
lol wat is right
This seems less than optimal. My company seems to be doing a good job overall.
This has left me feeling considerably better about working for them, I reckon others will be feeling the same.
This is the part where Trump kills 2m of the “less fortunate” and no one who matters bats an eye.
Shocked to learn Matt Gaetz is super racist.

And? This increases his stature and electability? Good political move in usa #1.
Anyone else completely checked out on trying to keep count and track the trends?
With all the variance on testing protocols, reporting, categorizing, etc it all feels like reading tea leaves.
Number of deaths is noticeably trending upward. On a log plot. This is not good.
Two federal agencies, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), have a list of 147 nursing homes where at least one resident has contracted COVID-19. But The Washington Post reports that the agencies are refusing to release this list to the public.
Those good at the maths, how many days until we can expect a thousand deaths a day?
When they say 20% are asymptomatic does that mean they dont have the main symptoms or they’re 100 normal?
Sounds more or less like my company’s response. We have a couple of plants in northern Italy and they’ve been running this whole time. Meanwhile all the division and corporate level fucks are working from home.
My back of the envelope 3/30 to 4/1.
