I just found out my uncle who has medium-level dementia has been in the hospital since Friday - assuming not for Covid or my Mom would have told me at least. My aunt can’t even visit him.
I’ve kind of made my peace with him the last few times I’ve seen him - knowing he might be in a home and completely out of it at some point. But i have no idea what I’ll do if he dies. Can our family even risk a funeral right now? It would have to be immediate family only I guess. In any normal situation I’m on a flight back to KC.
Stuff like this is going to play out so much the next year and a half.
Yeah that’s probably what a lot will do. In this case it might be somewhat easier since the rest of his immediate family has been giving him the long goodbye for a while.
But in a lot of cases - family members really need that catharsis and closure of a funeral. It’s always one of those things you dread but then in the end you’re really glad you went because it meant a lot to the people closest to the deceased.
Man I don’t agree. I think I’m super selfish but I hate these things, I find them incredibly artificial and usually when people are speaking about the deceased I’m like lol yeah sure. And that’s still better than when the bishop or imam or whoever is talking.
It’s possible this has to do with the airport and imported cases. Weren’t we routing all citizens abroad who were returning to 2-3 airports, ATL being one?
Hold on, are you telling me the power of Christ immunizes you? Sadly I believe salvation is denied those who would believe only to avoid a negative consequence, so back to atheism I go.
“I would rather have my children stay home and all of us who are over 50 go in and keep this economy going and working,” he continued. “Even if we all get sick, I’d rather die than kill the country, because it’s not the economy that’s dying, it’s the country.”
Just a note for those who don’t read bailout thread but they have reached a deal in the senate with the whitehouse. Seems likely that the house will be mostly on board.
LOL one time payment of $1,200 for those making under $75,000. Burn it down. Burn it all to the ground.
That’s how out of touch these politicians are on both sides. “Well, they make $20K a year. Why, they’ll be ecstatic with $1,200! And we can give corporations $4.5 Trillion. Win win!”
Aside from the policy regarding coronavirus this is some ridiculous thinking that the people over 50 make things work. Let’s just have everyone stay home except the executives. They can do the work. They are the makers and the rest of us are the takers after all.
