Print money + UBI

I was about to say this is fucking awesome, but…

I mean, I don’t know, sign me up for taking my chances with the 3D printed valves if the alternative is near-certain death.

She sent me a message today that she feels like being on a cruise ship isolated from everyone else is actually the safest thing. I’m not sure I have the heart to tell her otherwise, because I don’t think it impacts her positively in any way to know. She’s stuck where she is, she’s mid-20s and healthy, so letting her stay calm and relaxed seems like the move.

Mitt Romney, the hero we all needed.

I never thought in a million years I’d get to say that non-ironically. Like yeah his proposal won’t be perfect, if it fucks over the unemployed that’s messed up, but greasing the skids for a few Republicans to support it was incredibly important - and hopefully we can improve it.

Gyms are a haven for narcissists. The percentage of people still going to gyms who are not taking this seriously has to be massively above average.

I would say if you were going to rate general places that are still open that pose a significant risk, gyms are extremely high.

The whole grocery thing is unfortunate. If people backed off and let stores replenish the fact that many people have much more free time could mean reduced exposure for EVERYONE in grocery stores as the peaks would flatten out substantially.

Instead we are doing the exact opposite and creating massive numbers of people all in close proximity at once fighting over scraps. But there will be no reasoning with people.

People who only ever got to shop at peak times are missing out on the joy of shopping in a full grocery store nearly devoid of people. But that is what SHOULD be happening right now.

This is a very astute point. Ditto nail bars and beauty parlours.

You definitely should get tested.

I’m getting groceries late at night to avoid crowds, careful to not use my fingertips to use the checkout touchpad, which takes getting used to.

I’m hoping people get the hoarding out of their system, bc stores are gonna have to ration shit out if this keeps up.

It’s hard to see how rationing in stores would work. Do they stamp something indelible onto your hand at the checkout to stop you from circulating?

Who could have predicted

meh, that’s a reasonable thing to get wrong imo.

Haha like years ago when I worked retail and people would come in once in the morning and then later for school supplies. The company had declared honor-based limits and it was up to us to enforce them, but all we could really do was laugh if someone came back and we recognized them. Some people would literally walk out and walk back in. I started off saying hey now, at least wait an hour lol. But eventually it was like come on, you don’t pay me enough to risk the ire of a soccer mom desperate for highlighters and composition notebooks. She can buy what she wants.

Shit man, we can’t even convince some people that it’s a globe.

Personally I would probably go to physical rehab for a serious injury. It can make a massive difference to recovery.

Given the situation given, I would probably risk it but take as many precautions as possible. But only you have a real good feel for the injury recovery and impact of the in person PT versus all the other factors like getting the virus or being a risk to spread it to others if you do.

I would do it just because I have had multiple injuries that have required extensive physical therapy and recover and ultimate usefulness were greatly impacted in every case, positively or negatively.

What good does it do if we it doesn’t help the people out of work in this crisis? I mean, if I’m lucky enough to keep my job they can keep my $1000 and it give to somebody that has to sacrifice and stay home.
