18 American terrorists tourists (who got in before the border closure) have been gallivanting around the Barossa wine region, about an hour north of here. 10 of them just tested positive to COVID-19. That’s 1/6th or so of the cases in the whole state. Thanks guys.
Also, my state is considering closing its borders to the rest of the country:
The Sunday Mail reports Premier Steven Marshall is “strongly considering” closing South Australia’s borders – and it could happen as soon as 8pm tonight.
“We are now increasingly concerned about the rate of infection coming from sources interstate and we will look at this very closely over the next 24 hours,” Mr Marshall told the newspaper.
Opposition leader Peter Malinauskas has already called for the border to be shut.
“This will not stop coronavirus in South Australia but it has a capacity to be another positive step that will stem the flow,” he said.
The state’s Chief Public Health Officer, Dr Nicola Spurrier, said yesterday that “everything needs to be looked at” to help slow the virus’s spread.

I know it doesn’t matter and re re re re re re litigate and all that but I don’t like “but her emails.” Of course it’s nothing compared to the entire GOP but Hillary just deciding to break the rules because she’s super duper special in her own mind is a legitimate criticism and Hillary Clinton sucks as a person and a politician and please people let’s not pretend she isn’t an absolutely horrible person.

I think nail salons were open in LA until the order Thursday night.
I took a walk along the beach, which is lined by fancy homes. I figured it might be my last chance for a while. You could see big screen TVs in people’s homes with Gavin Newsome’s face talking about the lock down. Very disaster movie expository feel.
Everyone was doing a good job staying apart except one hard-breathing jogger who came up right behind me.
A very few restaurants on Hermosa pier were still serving takeout. But a couple stupid souvenir stores were open. WTF.

I un-unfollowed a few right-wingers on FB just to see what was going on. Yep - no memory whatsoever of Trump downplaying this thing or it still being a hoax just two weeks ago. Now it’s all - he’s doing the best he can and the mean, nasty media won’t stop antagonizing him. These people are frothingly ready to end free speech for good.
Their goldfish memories still surprise me sometimes.

The big spike in NSW came from letting a cruise ship in and all passengers off telling them to self isolate but not testing them or enforcing isolation. Turns out they just did all the touristy stuff they always do and at least 6 of them have now returned positive tests. NSW was doing so well but now it is unlikely they can get it back under control using contact tracing and the other states should close their borders with NSW. People just don’t take it serious until people close to them start dying.
