SARS-CoV-2: Electric Superflu

I bet you used to think your eating habits were more sustainable than normal too, huh?

That’s got to have been a sabotage in at least one Cutthroat Kitchen episode

If you’re a service worker who relies on tips in the US (or a salesperson in the same boat) you’re probably better off on unemployment.

Actually, one of the best threads over on 22 that not enough people saw is a trip report to “The Stans.”

Yeah that doesn’t work. She’s going with or without me. We stocked up on food but she still keeps trying to do unnecessary things like return random crap at Ross.

25% of NYC cases in hospitals are 20 - 65yr olds

We had a fire when I worked at Macaroni Grill, and they had to close for a few weeks. They asked people to come in and help out to get ready for re-opening and I think paid us $6/hr instead of our usual $2.13 as servers.

I went even though $6/hr is fuck all to a waiter. But it ended up being kind of a good bonding experience where we all pulled together, etc. I liked the management there at the time and liked the people I worked with, so it was a little like a family.

I imagine some of the better family-run restaurants have some kind of similar dynamics going on. Although 18 months is a long long time.

The numbers don’t make sense for Florida.

They need to stay out there so they can repopulate the earth. All 30 of the pre-menopausal women on board will need to be handmaids unfortunately.

You’re preaching to the choir. I’m perfectly fine not leaving the house but no one else in my family will take this seriously…even my sister who was an ICU nurse for 7 years and now in school to be a CRNA.

Yeah, I suspect that your experience is not uncommon, but I also expect that some joints, like Kenji’s, have their shit together. It’s just really hard to know which is which.

Just do your part. You can’t force anyone else to, but you can do what you can do.

That was more like a sabotage on every episode of Cutthroat Kitchen.

Those things are fucking huge compared to prions

Their testing shows them meeting N95 standards, NIOSH has not yet approved them fwiw… And also they’re like totally sold out now.

I got one this morning. I figured hospitals can’t use them anyway without the approval, so hopefully I’m not taking this from a healthcare worker.

I suspect we’ll never get accurate numbers of death out of Iran, US and to a certain extent China - Sad.

No way US ever reports a death rate higher than China - not with this dictatorship

Almost 800 more dead in Italy

Deaths continue to spiral in Italy. Official figures show 793 have died of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours - another daily record.

In total 4,825 people have now died across the country.

More than 53,500 have been diagnosed with the virus nationally, up more than 6,500 since yesterday.

Hopefully I’m well off but Italy at 30k deaths might not be unexpected - in the 1st wave
