SARS-CoV-2: Electric Superflu

Man, this sucks. I want to support my local businesses and takeout restaurants in this time of great chaos.

So I finally found some decent news. The drug remesdivir (sp?) may show promise. Currently in testing.

Here’s a Reddit post from somebody who’s dad for infected, and the rest of his family too.

This link is the follow up post but the link to the original post is in there.

Other good news: whole family got infected, but the other people just had mild cough and fever for a few days and that was it.

Yeah thats whats so sad is its clearly all people trying to be super nice, and we have absolutely no clue what we’re doing like I’m left to invent how this to go restaurant is suppose to run by myself while managers deal with everyone calling freaking out about their jobs. If you have to go to a place make sure that it is just an owner and a chef trying to get rid of their last food.

Imagine if like CA, WA, OR, NY, PA (Dem gov), MA, etc put in mortgage/rent freezes and keep folks afloat, and the red states are like nah fuck that all you get is the $1200 and their unemployment goes to like 30% with no hope of bouncing back quickly.

A month after this thing ends the blue states are at like 5% unemployment and red states are having a depression.

Me too. I have always shopped at off hours. I hate shopping in crowded stores. I would either go at 6am or midnight.

Are you saying that Laura Ingraham is not going to get her “When will this end date” she feels we must have?

I really need AZ to get put on lockdown ASAP before I get this damn virus. I had to meet with a client yesterday who was at Disneyland with their grandkids for five days last week. Good times.

Also, my girlfriend wants to go visit her 94 1/2 year old grandma tomorrow since she wasn’t able to be with us on our son’s first birthday. I feel bad if I bail and I’ll feel even worse if I got her sick. I have no idea what to do.

Masks man! Even homemade ones.

Masks are the inevitable solution. The sooner everyone gets on board with it, the better.

It makes sense. They tell you to sneeze into your armpit or whatever. So the fabric you are wearing instead of into your hands or the open?

We don’t even have enough masks for healthcare workers at the moment.

Make your own in under 30 seconds using a gauze handkerchief.

Just to show that the US is far from the only place fucking this up, we got told here in France yesterday to not wear masks because they were not useful. It’s partly, and I hope mostly, because they don’t have enough for medical personnel at the moment, but it’s still shitty messaging considering I’ve seen lots of people wearing them the last few days (our window looks onto the street), including homemade ones.

Goddamit we figured this out a week ago.

A friend of mine took a bunch of pills trying to kill herself. She was at Little Company of Mary hospital near me. Each time she started to get better she’d come down with something new. This happened like 3 times. Finally a doctor told her she should just get out of the hospital because it was making her sick.
