SARS-CoV-2: Electric Superflu

Thats what it seems like, yes

In the Senate plan, if you didn’t file, or if you didn’t report income that was high enough, you are straight boned.

Consoler in-chief? Nobody knows how it works.

The companies we gave tax breaks to did stock buybacks? Who could have possibly imagined!?!?!?!?

That was pretty funny:

Trump: “Feinstein and er… a couple of others”
Reporter: “Includes Burr and Loeffler…”
Trump: “And Diane Feinstein, a Democrat, why didn’t you mention her…”

Can you cliffs this for me (or if you have a link handy)? Senate plan has a minimum under which you won’t get a check? Really?

“I am fine with restricting stock buybacks. I just totally didnt when we gave the tax cuts even though everyone told us explicitly that that would happen.”

I would think the thought process is, “if you already make no money and were surviving, you don’t need money now. If you were making money but didn’t report it, then your a tax cheat.” This is probably true for a large portion of people who showed no income in 2018, but also screws over a ton of people too.

JFC the cruelty is the point. Appeasement for the suburban women R voters who are starting to revolt against Trump, sadopopulism for the down and out base who will never turn on Trump and only love him more the worse life gets for them.

This is one of the worst news conferences yet. Insane that Trump melted down when asked what he would say to Americans who are scared right now.

I can tell you from experience a lot of those people who didn’t file actually had refunds coming.

Me too. I didn’t file for a few years one time, took my shit to an accountant, and still got the refunds.

The question was a complete layup! All he had to do was say “we are on it, stay calm, blah blah blah.”

Nobody is even grilling him! Like a fucking week ago he was saying the whole thing was a fake news hoax!

Yea I don’t agree with it. It will screw over a lot of decent people who are exactly the kinds of people who are getting screwed by Covid. Just trying to figure out some sort of reason besides “screw the poor” cause I don’t think thats why its being written that way.

Went to a European grocery store and they were pretty stocked just had limits on cleaning supplies and not too busy. Down the block the gun store had a line of about 35 people waiting in front

When I finally got a decent job and paid in '99, before they would pay out I got audited for a 1099 delivery job I had 3 years earlier where I used my own car. I took the mileage deduction and got a $600 refund. Lol IRS.

Hopefully it stays this way. People are primed to fall in line. A couple “Presidential” speeches or news conferences and the dems might as well forfeit.

Half the poor people (minorities) hate Trump, so fuck 'em. For the white poor people though, the more he makes their lives worse the more they love him.

What’s the cut off for poor people getting this money? If you made under like 40k you only get 600?

Also what about people who live off social security?
