SARS-CoV-2: Electric Superflu

Ignore the other states, just no data yet. NSW 75 new cases and a lot of community transmission. I guess we’ll have to wait a while to see whether social distancing is doing anything, but it still looks fairly exponential at the moment.

There’s no smoking gun of “we are boned” but I just don’t see why NSW would go differently to elsewhere in the world. I don’t think the measures in place will be sufficient. Happy to be proven wrong.

Yea once we reach the phase where patients are denied care because hospitals are overrun, it could get very dark.

Stay safe, or at least as safe as you can while still saving lives.

Feel like the private security would be the first ones to kill them.

People haven’t had to watch their loved ones die in hospital hallways yet.

I’m shocked that a Secret Service member hasn’t assassinated a sitting president yet.

Seems ugly. I work for the Fed government and it appears that the government will force us to work till we all collapse. Crazy we are so far behind the private sector.

When I was hospitalized with pneumonia (several times) 94 was the threshold if it fell below alarms would start going off. Not end of the world alarms but more look at this, it is not good alarms.

I am sure the medical professionals here can offer more insight between their life saving.

Sending best non ironic thoughts and prayers to you and your wife.

Went out to get gas for the lawnmower today. Passed two grocery stores. Walmart Neighborhood Market looked fairly busy. It’s also next to gym, so I don’t know if all the cars were for one or both. Publix parking lot next to my house wasn’t jam-packed, but still pretty busy. Not liking my odds when I have to go get more food.

Just look up Cassius Chaerea.

Wedding I was going to tomorrow still hasn’t been cancelled by the holders despite the fact 50% of people aren’t going. They are calling everyone bananas. So yeah Australia is screwed.

They stop people before the lobby and mask them up, triage them and then take immediately to isolation if they could have it.

Not too busy and they have the resources today to put people in the rooms before they test. It’ll likely be a far worse situation in a week or two.

The article is dated today, it seems the exact terms of the lockdown vary by county.

Remember China was throwing up hospitals in a week. In the US we are just throwing up and sailing knee scrap vessels up and down the coasts.

Jesus christ man. Im so sorry to hear it. Keeping all my best thoughts for you.

Given the long time liquor laws and baptist presence in Texas this is pretty unbelievable.

To be the bearer of bad news, these people filing disclosures tells me they thought selling stock was legal. The obvious reason seems like the briefing mostly or entirely relied on public information.

If anyone here gets to the point of needing money for necessities, I’m sure our unstuck community will help out where we can. I’m not rich or anything but that includes me. I’m here for my family and friends any way possible.

When China was throwing up hospitals in a week it would have been nice if world leaders took the situation seriously instead of ignoring it and hoping it would fix itself somehow. GJGE
