Andy then he wouldnāt shut up
I thought he has already been disbarred?
Wtf we need a criminal update thread to track whatās going on with Trumpās inner circle. I donāt know if we do separate threads or just put it all in one. Thereās a lot of people to keep track of
Heās disbarred in New York.
lol America is so obsessed with states rights you can be disbarred in one and practice in the others still. Pure insanity.
Iāve practised law in brockway, ogenville, and north haverbrook!
If you want to practice in a state, you have to pass that stateās bar exam. I guess that makes sense because states have different laws and legal procedures. So you ended up with bar associations in each state that are responsible for disciplining their members. I guess you could conceive of some reciprocity agreements where one association would automatically disbar someone if they got disbarred from another jurisdiction. I think most attorneys are only admitted in a single state anyway.
Same in Canada. You have to be licensed in each province but if you are disciplined in one you canāt practice in any.
I suspect that in cases like this itās more a money grab than a true states rights thing. If there was a national license (not just for law, but lots of things) then CA and TX canāt both charge you for the same thing when you move from one to another.
They absolutely could use their right to choose to reciprocally accept licensure. They just choose not to. Is there any reason a dentist licensed in CA shouldnāt also be able to practice in TX?
Itās not the need to a license in each state thatās weird itās that you can be disbarred in one and practice it other thatās is so nuts.
Maybe not for law, but for something like being a dentist itās weird AF. There is no good reason.
