Like, let’s say I agree that CN is a trash baby. Now what? Are we just going to constantly unload on him? How do we get to a point where you’re satisfied?
There’s a latest round of this happening, right? I’m not even sure what stirred it up, but wookie, jman and otatop have been doing the RFCs and a mod here banned jmakin. None of these people are at the other site. You want people to post here about “the captains” and have no one who left even say anything? Permaban the lot and make this site hidden to guests.

For a while people were mad about Wookie, so he got demodded. Then they were mad because they wanted rotating mods and a second Wookie-free forum. OK, we have that. Now they’re mad because Ikes is allowed to post here. If we get rid of him will you guys settle down? Fuck it, I’d trade him if you and Johnny came back.

I’ve agreed with goofy a couple times here that things are spoiled and irreparable. I wouldn’t be having conflict with you or goofy or wookie or even CN beyond a few “stop being a dick” posts if it weren’t for the efforts to ban people I like and want to post with.
I’ve NEVER said this. You were one of the people who wanted him ban on sight, not me. Yeah, I’m mad at CN, but I do not want him prohibited from posting. I haven’t seen anyone from the other site calling for CN to be permabanned.
I want Sabo and jal and fidget and victor and marty and churchill to all be able to post without having their right to be here constantly in question. And I don’t want other people not on my “team” banned either. If there were no banning of people I wanted I could ignore conflicts between jman and jal or whoever just like I did for years at 2p2. Now, that ship has pretty much sailed because some of the people who were banned a lot justifiably don’t want to post with the people who wanted them out and people (including me) have been calling other people names and making fun of them for a year.

Nobody speaks for anybody but themselves. There is no such thing as a united “you all”.
Look, I have been posting here in content threads off and on, as have a bunch of other people who post on the other site. There are several people who post there who do the majority of their posting here. So…I’m placated enough I guess. Most of those people aren’t banned, they’re just, understandably, mad about having been banned and dogpiled for so long. They won’t be coming back.
I’ll probably still post here (and on 2p2, just like you) sometimes, broken up by periods when I get mad about people saying stuff like my friends are just like 4chan and leave for a while.

It’s not mostly Ikes. A lot of people get mad at a lot of your posts that suggest someone needs to stop posting or be banned. You may think that just the people you are talking about get mad, but other people get mad because they don’t want those people to stop posting or get banned and they don’t want the culture to be one where everyone’s right to post is constantly in question.
You’re being ridiculous. I explicitly did not say that. I said that the only long term discussion place online known for its lack of rules is the chan sites. I stated that was comparison was not the behavior of individuals, but your personal ethos and why 99.9% of the internet has a different one.
I just dont know why you won’t engage in good faith when people point out 99.999% of the internet is organized in one way, that works! It’s against your ways, but maybe there’s a reason for this?

I made a statement of fact. I wasn’t being ridiculous. I didn’t really think much of that part of your post when I read it, but I saw that people were offended. Maybe you didn’t mean it that way, but people thought they were being compared to the people at 4chan and I think that was reasonable. What has modding stopped here? Has there been 4chan-like incel posting? Has that been a problem here? Seems like you’re suggesting that it has.
When these people say they want to post here and say they can’t, they mean they want to be able to insult people they don’t like free of punishment.
I like Marty, despite him recently following me around 2p2 trolling me on an alt. He’s been warned/suspended/banned on 2p2 and here 50+, probably 100+ times. Saying that is a mod problem is silly! If you’ve been warned or punished for something dozens, if not 100+ times by dozens of independent people, it shifts the burden imo.
Obviously not? People are offended because certain people get the fainting chairs over any perceived slight here.
You want no bans. nearly every single discussion forum, apart from the chan sites you will find online is moderated in a similar way to UP. We came here because of lax moderation begetting far right views! Our origin story for this forum was literally pro banning fascists/far right posters!
I like and respect that you engage on these points. But when trolly asks you a question like that, just answer! You don’t have to behave like a politician and not take a side.
It’s not up to me. I can’t. All I can do is post here or not. In the lulls between these blowups I seem to be able to post here about gun control or the environment or whatever, but I’m not going to ignore when this stuff happens. So, shrug.
The only permaban in question here is Sabo, and yeah, I want him unbanned, but, no, I don’t think that will fix things around here. As for why he wants to be unbanned, well, I’ll perhaps overshare here and say the reason he gives when people understandably ask why the hell he’d want to post here, is that, if he leaves, he wants it to be his choice and not be forced. That said, I have no idea if he would come back and tell everyone who has been calling him a troll and saying his posting is terrible to fuck off!1!111!111! in his own way.
This is just me, but I can not tell you how grating it is for me to see expressions like this. There is so much concern here simply about whether or not people are punished.
Is there any actual good reason for JT to be taking shots at CN today about Trayvon, stuff that happened over a decade ago?
