I had a really stressful day yesterday because my bf had to have a medical procedure in Melbourne. I did really well that it wasn’t a blow out day.

The consistency makes me think this is the new normal.

That’s what I am aiming for.

While we’re at it 1700 is a pretty aggressive goal for anyone so it tilts me to see -21 in red as if it’s bad when that’s a pretty damn good day

Do you think it’s aggressive? I was thinking I was slacking a bit having it so high but then again it’s a long journey and as long as I am losing weight on it maybe it doesn’t matter. Anyone wanting to chime in feel free to do so.

I’m eyeballing it, but I think it’s a very solid target, especially if you’re hitting it consistently. With 3-5k steps to boot. I looked at a few calculators, a lot depends on how you define your activity, but even if you’re just slightly active vs. very active, you’re still on track to lose weight with that calorie mark.

I think you’re spot on with the hitting it consistently being so key to it.

1700 doesn’t seem like a lot of calories, but it seems like that target, when you keep it, has you losing weight slowly, so don’t mess with it imo.

Not that you’re not accurate, but I have a hard time imagining anyone being very accurate about this. If you, or the people packaging your food, are off by 5% in weighing things, that’s about 100 calories. I think the main thing is if you found something that works or not on average and aiming for 1700 seems to work.

I’ll stick with it until it stops working then drop it. I agree that I am probably not totally accurate.

We are all either gaining or losing.

Verdict: Losing

Losing ftw!

I think this article covers a topic that has come up a bit in this thread regarding what the scales say on a given day: Scale Fluctuations Are Annoying. Here's What's Going On | Physiqonomics

Frustratingly, its a long game. But you are on the right path!

That was an interesting article. I think I should start doing more regular body measurements for those weeks when there is no loss.

Haven’t read the article but for me measurements are quite well correlated with weight.

Eta this is based on weekly measurements, which would have a smoothing effect compared to doing it daily.

Oh yeah definitely weekly, doing measurements everyday would make me neurotic for sure!
