HODL I detect creepage!
Yea it is very hard to make friends when you are in your 30ās and single. Most people my age are getting married or already settled with kids, or kids on the way. Married people at this age tend to have young kids, which means they have zero time for friendships beyond simple chit chat or maybe a lunch every now and again.

Not surprising as I have not been motivated at all. Better try and get this back in check.

Nice stepping!
Iām not familiar with counting steps. How many in a km? And why measure in steps rather than km?
Well I think people are meant to aim for 10k steps so in that context its not so great, however I highly doubt the average person is hitting 10k steps. In my younger days I would have hit it easily. Iām not sure how many steps are in a km. I just use steps because I have a pedometer.
If an average step is 30 inches or ~.76 m, then 1 km is about 1300 steps.
My goal is 10 k steps but been lazy lately. I try to walk most days.
Yeah no way I hit 10k without full on walks involved. What sort of job you have makes a big difference.
Definitely. I am jobless so no excuse not to be out walking. Except for the cold, which I hate.
I didnāt realise you were out of work. I hope that turns around for you soon. I imagine the job market wouldnāt be the greatest atm?
Long walks listening to podcasts have been a part of my daily exercise ever since the gyms became unsafe. Itās getting tougher now that itās Feb in the Midwest, but itās still just warm enough for me to get out the parka and walk around the park.
Thanks! Iāll be ok as long as I donāt get sick or injured. The pandemic makes a good excuse for now. Iāve put off even looking for a long time. I have a lot of anxiety about it. Iāve only worked for myself and that part time since forever.
10,000 steps is one of those things that sounds good but has no evidence backing it, like drinking 8 cups of water or getting 8 hours of sleep. If youāre getting moving every day at all, youāre doing great.
Iāve been working on an aphorism along the lines of:
The hardest thing you do is always hard, no matter how easy it is.
As it relates to thisā¦continuous improvement is great. But itās more of a warning that never trying hard means increasingly easier things will become difficult. It applies to stuff like learning as much as physical things.
