Really well , I lost 100lbs a few years ago and had kept it off pretty well, but lockdown saw me bounce back up to 277lbs. inspired by the Summer weight-loss thread I went back to my program and am @ 239 at the moment, which is the lowest I’ve been in a very long time.
Even though I’m a bit of a CICO person I have to say the success I have had is not counting calories but by portion control. I keep it really simple - omelette for breakfast- protein shake for lunch- 6oz protein 14oz veg for dinner. no bread rice or pasta
Well done!! I love hearing about people doing well, it gives me hope it can be done. You also went pretty low calorie too from memory? I may be tempted to just do what you do as in no rice or pasta although I would end up cooking it for my bf which makes it a bit harder to resist.
I weighed myself on Friday and was in the 124s and got totally disheartened and gave up. I forgot about my whole being a woman business and retaining up to a couple of kgs of water weight at particular times of the month so I am restarting again and hopefully this Friday will show a big loss.
I hope my dog is ok. Hopefully I am just worrying unnecessarily. I brought his mattress out of my room and placed it next to the couch and he managed to get up on the couch so maybe he’ll be ok.
Went to a Christmas party today, only drank water and had none of the cheese, chips or dips. Stuck to a 1/2 egg and salad wrap and half ham & tomato sandwich and some fruit and one slice. Still have gone over but it could have been way worse.
It was an outdoors event at the park btw, so quite low risk and we haven’t had a covid case in our area for at least 10 weeks. I just went for an hour to see people I haven’t seen all year. Nearly everyone there does work from home too.
I’m feeling very unenthused by dieting atm. The only real reason I’m still calorie counting is to try not go over 2k calories and not put weight on over the Christmas period.
I have a friend in a similar spot. She has a bp issue as well so is doing intermittent fasting, which short of medication, is the only thing that helps, short term. It’s hard at any time of year. Holding your own during the holidays is a good goal.
