Today is not going to be so great. It’s my mum’s birthday and I am feeling pretty sad. Just have to make sure I contain it to 1 day.
Could have been much worse Rexxie! Take care of yourself today. Maybe some time in the garden?
I wish. I have to work unfortunately but at least that keeps me busy and my mind on other things.
I’ll start weighing in again on Fridays. Hopefully I see some downward movement.
Great job meeting your goal again!
You are going to burst into 2021 on a wave of momentum
I just booked into a sleep study for the beginning of January. My doctor referred me because I am constantly tired. I wake up tired. It’s really hard navigating through life when you’re permanently tired.
Thanks seities. That is definitely the plan. I need to just consistently hit my numbers and see some results.
I wake up tired too. I thought it was just depression but that’s a good idea to look at sleep. Maybe I should do that.
I thought that may be it too but my doctor was pretty insistent on getting the study done which I think is a good idea. You probably should especially if you snore loudly or are overweight.
I used be constantly exhausted no matter how much sleep I got, and even though I went t the Dr a few times it wasn’t until after about 5 years I got diagnosed with sleep apnoea.
I put an absolute ton of weight on at that time, I was eating for energy, I was eating because I was miserable and I was eating because I was so tired I didn’t care. Getting diagnosed and starting to use a cpap machine was absolutely life changing- I instantly felt like a completely different person. That’s the good news - the bad news was it was another 5 years until I stated to lose any of the weight because eating and drinking too much is loads more fun than not
The idea of waking up with energy is joyful but amost seems impossible, like a dream.
How’s your weight loss journey going?
You may remember from my b/log that I have severe sleep apnea. If there is a chance you might have it, doing the sleep study (and getting a cpap if the results indicate) is really is one of those “you absolutely should do this asap if you have the means” things. Glad you are booked in.
Yeah I was told by my doctor that it would be free due to my weight, high blood pressure etc but then they charged me $120 on booking which was a bummer. I’m not a big income earner and I know the actual machine is expensive but I think it’s worth it if there is a problem because apart from sleep apnea being quite dangerous it just makes everything else so much harder when you’re constantly exhausted. Sometimes on a day off I go to bed early and sleep 12 hours and am still just so tired. Everyday being so tired can be quite debilitating.
If you do have sleep apnea, sleeping longer can actually be worse. On those days off, do you happen to wake with or develop soon after waking a raging headache?
Oh yeah I definitely feel worse and do get bad headaches.
I have sleep apnea and use a CPAP. I always had brutal headaches on Sat and Sun morning after like 8 or 9 hours sleep, but rarely had them during the week when I was getting more like 5 or 6 hours. They cleared immediately after starting CPAP use. I think the headaches came from more sustained O2 deprivation on the weekends.
