Ate a heap of chicken tenderloin which accounts for the protein. Itā€™s a pity itā€™s so expensive. I think Iā€™ll buy some whole chooks and cut them up. Iā€™m almost out.

Iā€™ve had a bit of a health scare so need to get myself in order. If my blood pressure doesnā€™t reduce significantly I will have to go on medication which thoroughly disturbs me as I have historically always had good blood pressure readings. My cholesterol is also higher than it should be.
168/92 blood pressure
6.7 cholesterol
HDL 1.2
LDL 4.9
weight 115.4
waist 109 cm
I ned to get my HDL higher and reduce my LDL. I have another checkup in 6 weeks where my blood pressure will be the main issue and then in march I will get my cholesterol checked again. Reducing my waist size and losing weight is clearly going to be at the forefront. I am aiming to lose 7 kg in the next 6 weeks and 16kg in the next 3 months. Goal dates 10th January and 28th February. I will also be doing things such as including more HDL high foods in my diet (yes sardines Johnny) and trying to reduce my stress levels. Yoga will be done everyday. Weights twice a week and Iā€™ll try to do more walking but I may be inhibited due to my foot issues, Iā€™m cutting out alcohol totally for a minimum of 3 months possibly longer. My calorie intake starting out will be 1600.

My garden is shaping up so I will have lots of homegrown organic vegies to eat fairly soon. Doing more gardening will also be part of my stress reduction strategy. Iā€™ve already added another bed and have planted out some no dig potatoes for the first time so Iā€™m interested to see how they go. I currently have salad greens, herbs, spring onions, radish, fennel, garlic that is ready to go. Things to look forward to are tomatoes, cucumbers, green beans, yellow beans, eggplants, zucchinis, chillies, pumpkin, watermelon, pak choi, and chinese broccoli.

Apparently having a health scare is far more motivating to get calorie counting and changing your lifestyle than just being fat. I feel very committed and determined to succeed. Thanks to anyone still reading and rooting for me.

I knew the sardines would catch your attention. Thanks for your continual support and faith in me.

Thanks Fabian! Would it be rude of me to ask how youā€™re going with your weight loss?

Thatā€™s awesome! 5 kg is a fair whack of weight. Doesnā€™t really matter if it takes you a year, the end result and then maintaining it will hold you in good stead. Totally think you can do it!

Homemade? I like dal makhani from my local Indian takeout place, but it doesnā€™t come with eggs.

Yes homemade. I just decided one day to poach up some eggs and have them with my lentils. Totally delicious.
