Rap, Hip Hop, Grime, Drill - call it what you will

never been the biggest drake fan, also never would deny he got bars. this is an exceptional battle rap :face_exhaling:

Have you been following the whole situation (since the Kendrick verse dropped a few weeks ago)? I’m not a huge Drake fan either, but it’s pretty cool that basically the whole industry got together to drop 2 diss albums on him and he came back with a credible response.

sure have.

my twitter feed is basically all of that right now, reading what some of the lines mean, this shit is great.

rick ross’s response was good too, but drake just crushed basically everyone. hopefully there’s more coming

I’m mostly waiting on Kendrick (b/c most of the other people involved in this aren’t great writers imo), but this also feels like the type of situation where lots of other folks might want to become part of the conversation. And as a lover of petty rap and drama that doesn’t involve me, I’m here for it.

I’m a Boomer who thinks all post-90’s hip-hop sucks, but Drake is legit sometimes.

somebody on twitter said kendrick is gonna call drake a child molester over a light jazz composition :joy::skull:

he’s too worried about being technical, kinda like eminem has been for a decade. just say some ill shit, nobody is mapping out syllables/rhyme scheme in a battle.

meanwhile, drake (and his ghostwriters/AI) is built for this.

Yep. Kendrick needs to channel “Nail in the Coffin” Em, not “Doomsday Pt. 2” Em. Choosing to launch the first big shot as a surprise feature on a Future project makes me think that Kendrick understands the assignment, but we’ll see

We need to get a full 2pac AI album

man i ain’t gonna lie, first 30 seconds of hearing euphoria i remembered posting this :rofl::rofl:

that said, :flushed:

after reading the background to all the lyrics, i wanna amend my previous assessment: kendrick is indeed built for this.

saying he’s not allowed to say the n**** anymore… YIKES.

drake’s song is more of a banger, kendrick is out to hurt feelings. as good as drake can be in small doses, i don’t know that he wants what kendrick and pusha gave him.

Song title alone was a better bar than 75% of all diss tracks.

And people will be chanting that ending “chorus” at Drake for years. As a humanist (and as a white person who sometimes has a conflicted reIationship with hip hop) I feel bad, but from a purely rap beef perspective, it’s a genius move.

genius move.

6:16 in LA too :flushed:

Absolutely surgical. Kendrick basically saying, “this isn’t really about me. EVERYONE hates you, and I’m just the weapon they are using to kill you.”

first one is saying he’s not man enough. this one is saying his people aren’t really his people. :flushed:

kung fu kenny is out to cause a suicide and drake is making tiny feet jokes. yikes

your post made me think of the genghis kahn quote:

“I am the punishment of God… If you had not committed great sins, God would not have sent a punishment like me upon you.”

Think Kendrick kinda won this round.

Its close but I’ve got Drake winning round 1, although I love Kendrick. Rap beef/battles are supposed to be fun. Kendrick is a bit too nerdy and too holier than thou in Euphoria.

Apparently Drake just dropped, so get ready for some hawt takez

So far, I have Kendrick up, but I’ll admit that I have a bias towards stuff that requires a PhD
