Part of it is my own confirmation bias, as a midwesterner I was right that hillary wasn’t gonna do as well as people thought there (I thought she’d still hang on though whoops so lol my $). The bernie winning all 50 primary state mindset was insane even in the most optimistic scenarios.
Here, I don’t know yet that cities are gonna turnout to offset the rural turnout, college age doesn’t appear to be as much to not being on campus and black turnout which also atm isn’t as high as it needs to be (though they may turn out election day), which trump will get more of a % this time than 4 years ago.
We could see closer to 2024 or 2028 models which shifts a number of states. This is good for us in the south but bad for dems with the former blue wall. (now a fence). It’s possible dems fall just short yet in the former and the latter ends up barely flipping too soon.
I give it 15% we get a strange map, like GA blue but NC/FL stay red or MN red IA blue.
This is all moot if FL does flip blue (I’m still guessing a half a point short, because florida gonna florida (every trump rally I’m like that’s everyone I know in florida), gillum was +5 80% on 538 I remember that), then just need to make sure trump didn’t get the entire blue wall for the most part before the lols start flowing.

I think with the general public there may be a “fool me once” kind of thing going on with the hunter emails as well. The Comey letter came out 10 days before the election and I’m sure some of the undecideds that broke to Trump had that in their minds. Then the Comey announcement ended up amounting to nothing, Clinton was never charged, etc. I could see people being more suspicious about the same play a second time.

I’m rooting for a strange map (where Biden wins) that leads to years of left-of-center navel gazing.
I just deleted I misjudged by saying anything. Thought people would feel more relieved that I heard something that gave me confidence, should have known that minus context it would just drive people nuts.
Here’s the context: it was a person widely respected as an expert (and not Jess, this time) expressing a level of certainty beyond what they’ve put out publicly. It’s not voting results or anything like that

Beto gets shit on a lot, I think because he is bad at getting on the debate stage in front of a large crowd, but I’ve actually been impressed with him when he deals with smaller groups or one on one interviews. Probably never going to hold high office but someone who seems extremely valuable in the right role.
