Are you voting solely on for what benefits you in your wildest dreams? If not it is not at all comparable.
I would add voting for things that you believe in but don’t benefit you directly is not voting against your own self interest. And in the case of our future millionaires, that is not what they are doing. They don’t believe in lower taxes, they just want less taxes for themselves. On the other hand if you vote in support of equality you are voting for your own self interests, even if a separate conflict exists.
The point being a huge number of republicans vote single issue on taxes when it doesn’t really impact them and likely never will, but they just want to be ready just in case.

you guys notice that each debate was supposed to be when trmp picks up in polling for different reasons, like first joe was going to gaffe, then trmp was supposed to beat him in dueling townhalls, then joe supposedly sank his chances with frackign answer?
and yet, each step of polling actually moved slightly favoring D.
there was an article a few of weeks ago, to the effect of “joe biden is good at politics, and you are not. worry less than you are now”

I think the bottom line is the hunter Biden story was their big stretch run play that they had been planning on for a long time now and it totally and completely failed them.
If that story had landed it could have created real momentum and moved the needle to a larger degree. Instead they remain stuck in the mud with an insane dummy candidate who is actively killing people.

I don’t think most of them are voting because they think they’re going to be millionaires some day. I think that’s a caricature of them.
I think it’s more common that people believe taxes are bad because it’s the Government taking away something earned by an individual.

I’ll be honest if I’m Nate I have a floor of 10% in the model for any given candidate.
Although I think in this case the percentages have more to do with the margin in PA. I don’t think movement in the “run up the score” states are going to move the needle much at this point.
Just for the record, I’m still freaking out about PA…
I wonder what the Hunter bullshit would have looked like in a non-pandemic world. It feels like the media learned their lesson at least a bit from 2016 and most people have realized Trump’s a compulsive liar and tuned out his conspiracy theories. But I’m really not sure what would have happened without the pandemic to give outlets their news stories.
