538’s worst performance by far was the 2018 NBA playoffs.
Go here and scroll to the bottom for April 13, just before the playoffs started. It had the Warriors as 4% to win the title.
Compare that to sportsbooks at the time, which had them close to 50%.
The Warriors did win the title. Only one of the four series was even remotely competitive.

In general, the US is way ahead of most of the rest of the world in women’s athletics.
51 seats is a pretty shit outcome for us though. We need like 53 or 54 to get good shit done. Though maybe enough bad supreme court rulings maybe we can get that in 2022

I know, but keep in mind that’s an average EV that includes 48, 49, etc. There’s about a 45% chance of 52+.

I got a call from Wisconsin Democrats today when my permanent address has not been WI for, oh, 22-ish years? Weird. Somehow they had my childhood address linked to my current, out-of-state phone number when the two have never been related.
The guy asked me, “Can we count on you to vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in Wisconsin?”
I said, “Well, yes and no, but don’t freak out about the no.”

I think it’s also that D’s live in urban areas, where there are often long election day lines, so voting early is a better option. Combine that with added enthusiasm plus concern of election day shenanigans and I think you’ve got the perfect storm for heavy early D voting.

I think anyone who cares is voting as early as possible. We are all eager to place our vote and hopefully forget about Trump. He’s the political equivalent to people who leave their shopping carts in the middle of the parking lot. Just think of all of the meaningful progress that could be made if people weren’t stuck cleaning up his mess.

What he can do is claim that the election broke the law/shows him winning/fuck you and file a lawsuit that gets fast tracked to SCOTUS and then we just have to rely on the good faith of the 6-3 court so yeahhhhhh…
Gore’s team partially screwed the pooch by not calling for a statewide recount.* The Supremes May have screwed him regardless but it was poor strategery.
*my impression from what I’ve read in the past. I would certainly yield to a more informed law bro’s opinion.
