Listening to the new 5-4, something I don’t see talked about enough is just expanding the house instead of getting rid of of the electoral college. We just expand the house to a reasonable amount and CA should have about 240ish house seats andand 242 EC votes. Dems would be WAY stronger in the electoral college And it only requires a law passed, no constitution amendment.
We get the cap off the house and states are more equally represented I don’t see how Republicans ever win president again until they completely change and turn into the current democrats and democrats shift left.
Seems like that should be 100% added to efforts like adding DC, Puerto Rico, voting rights reform etc.

Can’t find it just own but saw a blurb that Dem requested mail in ballots are being returned at +38 vs Rep.
The implication is that suing to throw out ballots received after Election Day might not be much if any of a boost for Trump. It could actually backfire. (Though I think they are still +15? Dem outstanding but if the trend continues it could become a small D margin, no margin, or even a slight R margin. That would be too funny.
Clearly the word has gotten out.

No need to worry imo. The race is set. I forget who, maybe it was Citations Needed, but they did a deep dive into the paradox of Trump’s approval stability. Loses no voters, but also gains none. He’s so extreme that people have already made up their minds. The ratio can only get better as Trump’s support stays the same but Joe continues to gain new voters.
Cool. I’ll try to feel better about it. I’ll also try to post less negative-vibe stuff. If I recall correctly, back in 2008 on 2+2 some good poster told me to kindly shut the fuck up with my incessant doomsaying. I’ll try to avoid eliciting a similar post this year. :)

It’s all good my dude! I get worried sometimes too. Things are just looking very optimistic lately.
Thinking about 2008 2+2 also just reminded me of how Ikestoys used to get weirdly mad about the John McCane joke. I never understood why it bothered him so much, but I loved every incident.

No, I’m referring to the other one. John McCane (get it? Cane? He was old! lol). People would just spell his name that way in an otherwise normal post and it would for some reason grind Ikes’ gears.
