In 2016, there was maybe some shy Trump voters in the suburbs. Those voters have either a) abandoned Trump or b) already let their freak flags show when they thought it was cool because “the market is booming and unemployment is low so what the hell yall complaining about a little personality issue for???”
I think I’m pouring my efforts/money into restoring voting rights in Florida. Paying $500-$1000 or so bucks to allow someone to vote who is almost a guaranteed D vote has got to be pretty damn close to equal or greater value than some stupid PAC that’s going to waste tons of money on TV ads. After I donated money to the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition I went down a rabbit hole today texting all my friends that are criminal law attorneys asking if they knew anyone who needed their fines paid off, got two confirmed for about $1k a piece, then I got put in touch with someone from the FRRC group who is going to sign me up as a volunteer. I’ll check to see if you have to be from in-state, but if not, it’s probably a more effective use OT time than phone banking for a random candidate.

Convicted felons are not automatic D votes. The edge, plus the genuine interest in having a fair system, make what you are doing is awesome.
If you can make it so that white men get their fees paid last, you should do it. Just saying.

The people seeking help from this group skew heavily D. That’s not my main motivation for doing the work, though. My main motivation is that it’s a fucked up thing that has been done to these people all in the name of keeping shitbag politicians in power.

No one should be voting by mail if at all avoidable at this point. We need to win Election Day in person voting or WAAF. Of course Dems haven’t picked up on this at all yet and are still heavily pushing mail and absentee voting.
