If I posted every time I saw a bear this page would be nothing but bears. It’s like a freakin’ country bear jamberoo out there. We are in much need of a bear patrol.
Yep. Ended up stuck for almost 2 hours. Just kinda walked around near the car the whole time.
It’s the latest trend in Art photography - like Avedon used to include the whole of the negative in his prints…
… now some Art photographers include part of their camera.
Just used my phone. I haven’t gotten a chance to pull the actual photos off my camera yet.
When u say little, are u being facetious or is that just a cub? We used to have bears all over my county until construction wiped out a couple hundred.
The yard cam caught a cool pic of this bird lampin early this am. The 55$ I spent with on this camera has kept me sane lately.
Honestly I don’t know a whole lot about technical aspects photography as a fine art pursuit, either. I kinda just try to capture things that I think look interesting, and try not to worry too much if other don’t like it, even though I like to get feed back from people. If I focus on capturing what I see clearly, then I’m satisfied when I accomplish that and it help me focus on improving my technical understanding of photography.
I took the photos of my camera to send to a group text I’m a part of because they were asking me what I was up to.
I forgot your son is getting into it. Has he taken any photos you like recently?
Had an unfortunate accident a few weeks ago and lost my camera when it fell in the water in a swamp. I’m lucky and I had enough money to buy a new (used) camera that is a significant upgrade from my previous one. I got a Sony mirrorless A7Rii. My previous camera had a cropped sensor, but this is a full-frame camera, which means it has a bigger sensor and can capture significantly more detail than my old one. I’m still learning how to you, but wanted to share a couple photos I took that I really like. I don’t know if all the detail will show up on here since i have to shrink the size to post them. Tomorrow night if the weather cooperates I’m going to go spend the night camping in big cypress to try and shoot the Milky Way with my new camera. I’ll share with y’all if and when I do.
Not trying to dox you, so don’t answer if you don’t want to, but Kirkland-ish?
Somerset looking down on I-90. My friends and I used to climb up to the catwalk under the East Channel Bridge and walk over to Mercer Island at 2 or 3am in the mid-80’s.
Ah, I gave it a guess without looking at a map. Sort of close, sort of not really… Nice shot on a nice night!
New moon and clear skies, had some real good conditions so I grabbed my camera, tripod, and a headlamp and drove out to Big Cypress to Gator Hook Trail and waded back about a quarter mile to this spot where the mark prairie converges on a couple cypress domes. In the transition there are a ton of cool dwarf cypress trees that I have always thought might make for a cool Milky Way photo. Anyway, I think I got some good photos, will have to look in the morning though. Here’s what it looked like on the way out:
The sky did not disappoint. I could see the Milky Way with my naked eye. Once I got comfortable standing in the dark, it was pretty surreal, because the whole area sheet flows in the summer, so there was about a foot of standing water everywhere and all the stars reflected off it, so it kind of felt like I was floating in space, if space was filled with mosquitoes.
First photo from last night’s shoot. I’m actually a little disappointed with the quality. The stars aren’t in focus, my exposure was a little too long, but I couldn’t tell on the screen while I was out there :-/. They still look pretty good on the Internet, but I was really hoping to be able to blow some up for large prints, but probably won’t be able to.
