View from my home city of Trondheim, Norway, from the local restaurant near my mother in law’s. Me and my gf/partner will take over the home and refurbish it in a a couple of years - the view is part of the reason we want to do so!
Northern Europe makes me so jealous/sad.
And then winter comes.
There is that.
Though I actually like a solid winter - which we haven’t really experienced in the last 5+ years or so. Climate change has led to us losing, on average, about 25 days of winter each season, meaning proper snow, temps below freezing etc. These have been replaced by England-y winter, meaning a few degrees above freezing, rain or sleet, icy roads etc. That just suuuuuuuuucks. Give me a proper winter, but unfortunately, climate change will make our winters ever more miserable :(
Those days with cold slush being driven into your face by strong winds really are the worst. I love dry sunny winter days, which we seem to be getting more of here with climate change.
As if the whole “functioning society” thing wasn’t enough, I have been to Trondheim, it’s a university town so there are a lot of young people, and the population of women there looks like a goddamn models convention is permanently in town. It was jaw-dropping.
Downside: hard to avoid looking like Creepy Joe staring after said women once you turn 40.
That explains a lot.
Recent stress levels.
And for having long hair in a built up area, probably.
Hope it worked out ok for you.
How bad are their winters compared to say…Boston
I wouldn’t know. I’m a Brit and we have our own autumn to spring weather issues.
Why does this make me think of Batman?
Up early to clean up the yard a little bit and was greeted good morning by this little guy. I went right back inside, the work can wait.
Kahala Hotel from my house. I count 5 room lights. Normally over half of the rooms on this side are lit. Hawaii’s economy getting crushed.
…is that a bordello to the right?
