3rd time this has been posted but it’s a corker
They all seem to be flooding into Florida, too.
water and baking soda is what they gave us in basic training after we came out of the tear gas tent.
Maybe it helped, but i dunno. It was still fucking terrible.
Note 1: This was part of the chemical warfare training when they taught us how to don and doff our chem suits and masks. We put on our gear, went into a tent full of tear gas, they made us take off our mask and recite the alphabet (so we couldn’t cheese out by holding our breath). Then you left the tent and proceeded to a table where they gave you the water/baking soda mixture. Meanwhile you have liquid coming from literally every exposed orifice and membrane. Tears and snot pouring down your face…no one is pretty when they’re tear gassed.
Note 2: They no longer do this in basic training.
Any chance this is just a ploy to shield assets from wrongful death suit?
The less acrimonious and hotly-contested proceedings are, the more likely imo.
So I finally started reading Reddit and lots of people are claiming on the live streams the last couple nights many of the people interviewed admitted they were from out of town. Can anyone who watched live streams for long periods of time confirm this?
Never heard it once.
No disrespect, but you sound super jaded with your current situation. I live in a Indianapolis and love it here. Yeah the weather is shit sometimes, but the people are super nice, the food is incredible, great breweries, access to every major sports team, green spaces everywhere, and a great community.
Edit: forgot to mention that the cost of living is absurdly low.
Maybe in Indianapolis. Going to concerts at Deer Creek is a cop trap hell hole.
Initially I was strongly against this out of state shtick as I known its a long used excuse for more police brutality. And I completely condemn why they’re using this excuse.
But would it really be surprising if they arrested like 20 people for being extremely violent and lighting shit on fire and we find out it’s white alt right people from out of state? Especially those attacking businesses. Wouldn’t surprise me if they organized on the internet somewhere with the intent on making the protesters look bad.
I guess we’ll see when they release the info.
You know I was just thinking about the out of town angle and it occurred to me that in my city it seems like almost all the crime(drug busts and such) are almost always reported that the perps are from somewhere else.
I’m wondering now if this is just some kind of common tactic that police and authorities use.
It definitely is. But seeing umbrella guy makes me think there are definitely some people doing shit with ulterior motives as well.
Seeing everyone reposting Killer Mike’s speech last night reminded me of this and makes me so, so disgusted that the future hope of our country lies on Joe fucking Biden and not Bernie.
My thought on this: this outrage is moral and just. You cannot try to stop it, you cannot decry it. This is the language of the unheard, and we need to hear them. It’s up to Democratic operatives to get people to turn out to vote. Get these people to register and vote. Having trouble? Fix your platform.
There is an incredible amount of energy right now. Harness it, make sure it makes a difference in November. The right sure as hell will.
I agree with your sentiment, but also: por que no los dos? White nationalists trying to foment violence at BLM rallies is part of their published playbook–both by confrontation and infiltration. To whatever extent they’re trying to poison protests, they should be exposed.
But, yes, the most important message is that the black and brown communities have been exceedingly forgiving and patient–even Floyd’s family is now calling for “grace,” which… fuck that–and their anger is indeed earned.
Off the top of my head I can’t think of any business that legally requires liability insurance.
Here’s La Mesa, the one I would go to if I was healthy. La Mesa, Temecula…these are places that do not have large black populations. I’m heartened to see this.
For background on the La Mesa protests…
