Police Murder George Floyd Then Riot Nationwide (Links to Streams in OP)

Going to be interesting since her business is apparently registered to her home address.

Yeah. It’s a nightmare. There’s probably going to be a second wave around then that will push it back. Meanwhile you just have all these criminal cases piling up with no way to schedule a jury trial. We don’t even have grand juries operational in NY yet, and that’s another nightmare becuase in NY grand jury is required for all felonies.

Symbolic action can send a powerful message.

Protests in Indy last night. Cops ended up using teargas on peaceful protestors. That should help things…

Not going to be interesting if it turns out it’s not the same person. Going to be really tragic actually.

I don’t do criminal so I haven’t been keeping up with this stuff - have states been extending speedy trial deadlines for people that were already charged pre-shutdown? Any discussion of whether there will be wide scale challenges?

In Maryland at least we did a lot of bail reviews and parole reviews via video when this first started, with the goal of releasing people that don’t pose a risk to the community. Putting aside the issue of prosecutors recommending the release of people who they recommended be incarcerated in the first place (especially juveniles), I can’t imagine being held without pretrial bond and sitting there waiting for courts to reopen at some indefinite date in the future.

I’ve been a diligent and principled pacifist for my entire life to this point. I am ready to punch some Nazis.

I’m not much of a puncher. I’m more likely to throw an object like a hammer if I decide someone needs to be hurt. Punching just seems inefficient. I hate inefficiency.

Governor of Minnesota on TV right now failing completely to understand what is occurring in his state.

And essentially saying they’re going to crack skulls tonight.

This guy is a fucking clown.

He literally thinks the solution is increased state violence targeted at minorities. These are surreal times.

I can’t speak for all states, but in NY, yes, by executive order basically all court related time limits both civil and criminal (speedy trial, statutes of limitation, etc. etc.) have been tolled. Everything that can be done remotely is being done remotely. I think there’s lots of discussion about wide scale changes, but how do you do a socially distant jury trial? It’s almost impossible.

If its so obvious that the destruction is a result of something “organized”, how come we never see any evidence of the organization?

If he is trying to make things worse he is doing a great job.

Soros LDO.

For any of you attending protests watch out for cops like this

Imagine a world where the governor stands up and says I have asked our law enforcement to stand down. They will not target any protesters tonight. They will not be blocking streets or forming blockades. The laws still apply so anyone destroying property will be charged but there will be no enforcement tonight. Tonight is about our citizens speaking loudly and us simply listening. Tear gas will no longer fly in our community.

We will be using this time to reflect on solutions to the institutional racism in our police force.

So literally every public official in MN is going with the outside agitators line.
