Just normal workplace violence. Nothing to see here. Let’s just all move along.
Have to say there is some hand wringing starting in the media but this seems like a near perfect protest so far, especially given how widespread. There has been almost no violence on behalf of the protestors. All the violence has been cops. It has only been property damage which is textbook civil disobedience.
It’s a perfect combination of MLK and Malcolm X.
Huge props to all those involved.
Does not compute
Thought I heard on CNN it was $7 million
500k is the number I heard as well, and I had the same thought - this guy has a house in Florida and one in Minnesota. Tell me how he’s not a flight risk for 50k
There are no flights, having no passport and being one of two people on a plane entering customs in a foreigh country could raise suspicion
His trial won’t be for another six months, minimum. More realistically a year.
I’d still be careful with this. The Facebook picture and the picture of that woman in the car do not look that similar to me. If that’s all they’re basing it on then somebody could be getting trainwrecked for nothing.
If this is the case somehow I don’t see the protesting ending anytime soon.
A year is in normal times. Remember that the courts in most states have been largely shut down for months and nobody knows when it’s going to be safe to start jury trials again (which necessarily involve large groups of unrelated people). When they do start up again there’s going to be a huge backlog. Right now even if you restarted jury trials in a hard hit state I’m not sure if any prospective jurors are showing up.
Going through the links, it sounds like she was identified via her license plate and once her identity was determined, people started sifting through social media to find out about her.
I keep seeing people identified her through her license plate, but I haven’t actually seen anything detailing how that happenned. It could certainly be legit. It could also be an angry co-worker or ex-boyfriend or whatever saw the picture and decided to ruin her life. There have been incorrect trainwreckings like this before.
One goal of protest is to provoke a disproportionate response. It would be interesting if some of these protests can be encouraged to damage a Trump-owned property. A Trump over-reaction might be a good thing to provoke.
People in Chicago were getting pretty close to Trump tower and cops were reacting swiftly but also lol at trump owning any part of that building besides his stupid name being on there
Right I think we’re not starting up juries until September or October and that could still be pushed back again.
