Police Murder George Floyd Then Riot Nationwide (Links to Streams in OP)

Yeah it’s the same guy - red t-shirt, black pocket.

Well, that’s why I said he was probably a good guy and by that I mean a good person. But if the first shooting was self-defense, so was the second.

The bootlicker was wrong to be where he was doing what he was doing, and perhaps that means he deserves to be physically attacked, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible that he was defending himself.

The Respectable Lawyer guy is arguing that this is 100% self-defense given the mace. He’s biased, but that’s a good sign there’s at least a case.

Two shots. But the big puff is mace. If you listen to the yelling, you can hear the mace guy say something and maybe the N-word, right as he raises the mace and fires. The shooter had to have had his gun out because he fires a tenth of a second later.

But if he saw the PP guy draw the mace, he could claim he thought it was a gun and drew his gun in defense.

Perhaps the “justice system” won’t rule them as similar, but from videos I’ve seen they seem to be insofar as self-defense goes. This doesn’t mean what the people are doing and why they are there are morally equivalent.

Have you read anything about the third guy with the gun as far as background?

It certainly is murky. Imagine a guy legitimately shooting someone in self-defense but not everybody agrees and one of them tackles him. But that guy was on the first guy’s team and there’s a difference of opinion as to what has happened. Shooter’s still in self-defense mode, right? Kind of. So the intention/guilt of the shooter matter at this point but these are things that are not known to every party and possibly not to the shooter himself, in a legal sense.

The truth is that justice really needs to take into account what these guys are doing there. But it’s really tough to do this. Laws fail sometimes.

ok. I think that solves it.

I would not be surprised if the Portland guy were punished more harshly even if the actions were exactly the same.

The Kenosha thing wasn’t really like the movie theater shooting though. Like I said, I think the tackler was a good guy, but it’s really not clear the bootlicker was on a rampage as opposed to having shot a guy who he was reasonably afraid of and then run away from a crowd chasing him and towards the police.

But, I guess it’s impossible to take any position other than every single action taken by one side is as unjustified as possible and every single action taken by the other is as justified as possible. That’s not necessarily unreasonable, but, you know, if an American hero chased a Nazi soldier and the Nazi turned and fired it could still be self-defense, even if the American hero was completely justified just because the Nazi always has it coming.

yeah, it clearly wasn’t like any active shooter incident.

Which third guy?

That’s not the same thing and you know it. They didn’t attack the stabber physically. If you think they should have attacked the guy physically, fine. I think people do deserve to get their asses kicked sometimes. But the law is going to see it as self-defense if they start kicking his ass and not if they are just standing in between the guy and the two teenaged girls.

The guy with the gun who got shot in the arm.

I don’t know about that.

Look, are you trying to talk about the law? You say you aren’t, but you seem like you are. IANAL, but I think “reasonably feared for his life” or something like it is probably the standard here. Was he menacing people with the knife before? Was he still a threat when they shoved him? Was the shoving a reasonable and serious threat? I dunno. These are all completely separate from whoistheasshole.

Oh, so the other guy who was shot right where the second guy was killed in Kenosha? I haven’t seen anything about him.

I really don’t know what you could mean by this. I think I would universally apply a standard something like “a reasonable person would fear for their life” or something like that to call a shooting self-defense.

The morality of that would be different if you started to kick the crap out of Charles Manson and he shot you vs. you starting to kick the crap out of Jane Goodall and she shot you, but the self-defenseness of it would be the same.

I’ve seen a lot about him, including the golf ball size chunk of his arm that was gone.

it’s total chaos out there, and you guys are trying to perform some half-assed gumshoe postmortem lol

unstuck 4life!
