Affirmative action, abortion rights, those body cameras.
About the cameras, getting the cops to wear them was only half the battle. The other half was convincing them there would be consequences for what they recorded. A recent wave of liberal prosecutors are now making that happen.
So 2 things from over 50 years ago that I don’t know the history of that well so I won’t comment on who got those movements going or how they gained traction but you know body cameras were more widely pushed because of the actions of Ferguson activists. The liberals did that because of activists
Okay, sure maybe sometimes. But the criticism from lefties wasn’t that liberals were “focusing” on these specific issues (they weren’t lol), it was more that they were only playing lip service to these issues and not offering much solutions when they could actually try and focus on things that can help these groups and that people widely supported
No you don’t, because that didn’t happen outside of liberal stereotyping. Either that or you’re mistaking the left-wing idea that racism and capitalism are inherently intertwined in the American empire and its criticism that liberals desperately want to “solve racism” without addressing any of the structural problems for… the thing you said.
So the things they’ve been doing for years and haven’t worked? That’s your solution?
Nah, man, people were definintely gnashing their teeth over the left engaging in “identity politics” and telling us we need to focus on appealing to white dudes in Midwestern diners and stop talking about social justice issues.
Think Feinstein, Harris or Lieu are going to lose because of the signs?
(Feinstein maybe not running, but w/e, it’s all democrats winning here. But I guess the Joe Biden wing of the party will have a bogeyman to blame for whatever happens anywhere on any ballot.)
No California is safe, I’m just saying the people you’re looking for are like the people around you - rich upper middle class to upper class white men who like a certain kind of policing, and consider a lot of this a feature not a bug - though they’d rather not inspect the manner in which their desired level of security is provided too closely.
In PA it’ll be the Philly and Pittsburgh suburbs. Now, the signs alone won’t do it, but the Dems need to make sure that the public knows they don’t want to abolish the police.
