Police Murder George Floyd Then Riot Nationwide (Links to Streams in OP)

People talk about military recruits like girls that end up on a porn set.

I am probably risking the wrath of Clovis here but how is that not actually a good analogy?

It’s not that simple:

The Daily Beast: Maryland Cyclist Who Tore Down Teens’ George Floyd Memorial Apologizes.

These numbers are from the early 2000s? I imagine you had a lot of 9/11 enlisters back then?

It’s mostly that they’re indoctrinated.

They’re the most current numbers I could find, I would be surprised if there’s been a seismic shift since then. They’re from '06 and '07, also, well past the point where anyone sane thought Iraq was some like noble cause or whatever.

That is the best I can find. It uses the median neighborhood income where the enlistees come from. Which has some obvious flaws. It also has roughly 60%of enlistees coming from neighborhoods where households make 60k or less.

You have to be able to get a security clearance nowadays so it’s not the bottom of the barrel anymore like it was during the Vietnam era and before when there was a draft. So it makes sense that you’d see more middle class recruits. You have to get a waiver for any criminal offense and a bad record can keep you out entirely, where before a judge might literally give someone the choice between the Army or jail.

A lot of the others are also going to be from the military academies or ROTC programs where you come in as an officer and, if you play your cards right, can generally avoid going anywhere near a war zone. My friend went in from ROTC in 2009 and served his four years or so and then got out. I don’t think he left the continental US at any point. He was always either training or teaching something. He would have been coming from a middle class or upper middle class household.

The 1st quintile paying the 3rd and 4th quintiles to oppress the 5th quintile is right out of Das Capital.

I’m assuming the very poor are underrepresented in part due to one or more problems like health issues, lack of a high school diploma, criminal record or actual incarceration, etc.

You ever met a hardcore military recruiter? They are some of the slickest salespeople you will ever meet.

And yet, if you replaced them with 21-year-old D cups on a stick, the enrollment success rate would be higher.

When I was in HS, fellow kids would joke about how they were going to work the recruiter for a free Micky’D. You’d ask them the next day: “Did you get that free Big Mac?”. They’d say “Guess what, I signed up!”. We’d say: “Yeah, but did the Marines buy at McDonalds?”. They’d say “Yep”.

No pole dancer is doing to dance for the price of a fast food combo.

No fucking military recruiting in the schools and colleges !!!1!

I think I’ve seen one once or twice, but my travel to the USA has mostly been for poker, music festivals and the odd nyc/Chicago etc with the gf.

Military has a lot of benefits and advantages if you stick with it. It’s where all our money goes and they spend it. Wouldn’t go in without a BA or promise for free college. (A lot of those online deploma mills for $20k are mainly aimed at military.)
