If anyone refuses an order, it will be Esper or a general and it may not leak. If some lieutenant refuses an order that a general has deemed legal, they’re going to prison.

A sorta protest in my neighborhood on NextDoor. Tonight at the start of curfew people are going outside their door and shining a flashlight for 8min and 46sec. Only one negative reply so far:
“It was only 3 1/2 minutes”

I’m googling now and seeing that the different BLM charters are demanding different things in different cities…
I do think that BLM should consider hiring a lobbyist and marketing team.
Look how huge this movement is - they could easily get something real and meaningful out of all this besides hearts and minds.

Yeah I agree with that, for sure. I expect the tough conversations with white folks, it’s a big part of why I want the shirt. As for the second part, I’m very comfortable letting them vent and then just calmly explaining that I respect their opinion on that and agree, and that I’ve protested, donated, fervently supported the cause on social media, and made it a top-3 voting issue for me, and am happy to listen to their suggestions on other things I could/should be doing.

I hadn’t cried yet today, but juuust under the wire before midnight you snuck in a video of a few thousand people singing “Just call on your brother, when you need a hand, we all need somebody to lean on,” a couple blocks away from an army platoon sent to squash them to send the message that Black Lives Matter.
Edited to add: Are they short on money? I don’t have cashapp, but could send another way (Venmo, PayPal, whatever). Spreading around a bunch of small donations because I feel so moved to donate to so many diff places, but would gladly chip in a few bucks to Hunstville if they’re in need.
