Big thunder storm coming into Philly, only area being spared is North Philly, where I’m pretty sure the biggest protest is. Mother Nature don’t lie.
Golfing on Saturday with someone who is a Trumper but I know also LOVES Mattis. Even has a couple t-shirts with some Mad Dog quotes. Definitely going to bring this up.

Regarding the BLM tshirt.
I had two separate conversations about visable symbols, flags etc.
One with an aboriginal woman, one with an LGBT awareness trainer.
They both basically said the same thing. They feel constantly unsafe and are always scanning for things which will make them feel safe or unsafe.
One mentioned that walking into an office and seeing rainbow flags and lanyards everywhere was really meaningful, the other mentioned a similar story about seeing the aboriginal flag flying over one of our powerstations.
Previously I had thought this was all tokenism, but now I’m all in on the symbols.
My email sig now has my pronouns in for example.
Maybe ask what sort of allyship tshirt you could wear if she’s not down with the BLM shirt?

Obviously abolish police, but also obviously that cop faces charges and also obviously anyone ever convicted of anything based on any evidence from that cop needs a new trial or to be released.

According to many Christians, Trump is some kind of close connection to god. Maybe he asked god to make it storm to end the protests.

So one of my super volunteers from the campaign this past year is a deputy city clerk here in San Diego (that’s him in the beginning of the video behind the laptop). They had an 11 hour council meeting yesterday, with over 200 non-agenda comments from callers. My friend is the one who mans the phones, heh.
Anyway, there were two motions that got the most calls, one for a resolution about anti-AAPI discrimination in response to COVID (businesses, etc can’t discriminate against Asian people, and expanding hate crimes to include this as a cause), and the other for using CARES act money for emergency rental relief instead of sending it to the police department.
He said for normal council meetings, they get maybe 10-15 non-agenda comments from citizens. People are fired up. This is a video, btw, dont know how to put insta videos here
