It’s crazy how popular poker is now.

I know Tony personally, doesn’t surprise me at all that he took a principled stance in regard to this matter.

Re: poker’s popularity, I recently went back and watched Hustler’s replay of the Robbi/Garrett hand and was kinda surprised it only had 1M views. Was thinking it probably would have gone more viral and been in the 10-15M view range.

Probably generated many more views through the vloggers/poker influencers videos than the Hustlers official video.

Yah, after I posted I saw Polk’s hand review got 1.4M views. I guess it’s possible through all the influencers it got to 10M.

Gareth interview on Ingram is pretty good. Be fun to see him play again this week.

Everyone at table in ballys high roller cash game in about $100k. Garret with $500k and who would have guessed the nut low worst of time cash game player Hellmuth is short stacking with $9k.

100% back any random 1/2 player over hellmuth.

Re: It’s crazy how popular poker is now

Anyone notice a marked decline in NL cash games between this year and last year? I’m doing a Florida road trip and Jax, Miami, and Tampa all have significantly worse NL games than a year ago. Just so many straight up awful games, oof. Might be time for those PLO courses…

private games driving traffic

PLO variants are becoming pretty popular and I think probably stealing some NLHE traffic. Not only 4-card, but 5 and 6 are also showing up often online. Can’t comment on live play though.

Yea makes sense about the private games. I saw a lot of the same grinders but way less of the usual donators.

For the PLO variants Miami runs 5 card, which I’m sure is juicy, but most places just stick to 4 card. PLO doesnt seem to be as popular in FL as somewhere like Texas though.

private online games here are almost entirely 5 and 6 card plo. live is mostly a mix. no place will run purely NLH

Yeah. There’s a lot of donating that has been cut back on at the 1/2 and 5/5 cash in my neighborhood. Now you actually have to table select even on a Friday night with all the drunk paycheck gamblers. Used to be absolutely no point in table selection during the best hours

Yea nowadays there’s so many table transfers that a lot of the time your first table is one that someone is transferring away from, a nit fest, and then you’ve gotta get on the list too.

Just curious, how big is the player pool for those private online games?

Cliffs - 3 handed in the WSOP Bahamas main event guy pays out 47 mil in chips after doubling up a player instead of 37m because of a dealer counting mistakes. Busts his short stack the next hand

Mates with the guy IRL and genuinely cant understand how this happened at the FT of a Main. A satellite or side event sure but not here.

Also feel like the winning player probably needs ro say “yo I don’t think I have that much” morally but thats just me.

I have no idea how there is going to be fair recourse here because that set’s terrible precedent for players as a collective to stiff the 3rd party casino.

That sucks big time but there can’t be a recourse. In the end, it’s up to the player to ensure accuracy.
