there are two links to the stream? the players started around noon local time (maybe even earlier) but they don’t start the stream until 5pm local (that would be about a 5 hour delay, not 9 as I wrote in the post you replied to)
edit: it looks like they split the stream if it goes longer than 12 hours. they’ve done that before.
but I’m talking about when the stream starts vs when they actually start playing. you definitely need the delay, but idk if it needs to be that long of one bc most of the action will happen overnight if you wanna watch “live”
Is Nit Airball supposed to be an action player? The few times I’ve seen him he’s been the tightest guy at the table. Nothing better than seeing the super loud guy who’s playing super nitty lose.
Seems like these streams did pretty good #s. I was worried they wouldn’t get many views, but they actually seemed to beat most of the NLHE streams with non-premium lineups.
Talked to a few hold em players at my local casino who watch HCL. They said watching the stream made them less likely to want to play PLO.
What type of players are they? Good regs? Casuals?
I could see better players who don’t know much about PLO coming away from those streams thinking that PLO is just flipping coins for massive sums of money. OTOH, I’d expect that action-oriented whales might be intrigued by what they saw.
Does anybody else feel like if bingo is going to be the name of a poker style, that it probably better applies to the very people who love to sneer the word bingo at people when they’re cranky?
The kind of players who essentially only care about their own cards, with little to no consideration for things like relative hand strength, position, stack sizes, hand reading, etc, are the most likely to say THAT’S BINGO, STUPID despite the fact that they’re playing poker using only the information on their own cards… sound like any other game? One that starts with B and rhymes with dingo?
Mainly decent to good regs, some of whom might actually study away from the table.

PLO is the game of the future just as it was in 2008, 2013 and 2018.
Big flips, tough/complex decisions and compounding mistakes are not what a huge subset of the playing population want. Some people sure but not the majority.
Any Tom Dick or Harry can play NLHE relatively well of they vpip sub 25% of hands. Way harder in PLO.
Not that hard to VPIP 25% in PLO.
