Mario Ho itt!

One of the more interesting hands of the last 10 yrs. I still think it’s nitty but oof what a spot.

For some reason immediately reminded me of this guy…

This hand has come up on the PokerGuys break down.

I think it’s a pretty rubbish fold as played. Given the specific texture yeah there are two players behind but not many combinations of flushes that the two players behind can have.

If Farrell is ever shoving overpairs without a heart it’s an absolute print against him. Whether he is or not I’m not sure. But he has a pile of combos of AhKx, Ah Qx, and overpairs including the Ah and Kh that you are doing so well against.

SPR is only around 1.5 against Farrell, not a heap more vs the players behind and we have 2nd set. I’d get it in fairly comfortably I think given how it was played.

I’d also argue the flat preflop may have been a bit questionable, I think I would 4! It before cold calling but all 3 options are probably OK depending on how you read the Kempe and Bicknell ranges.

Sorry it was a Polk breakdown not TPG

The nfd/2nfd was in a private game (off stream) like 10+ years ago.

So it’s not misogyny because popular, well-known female pros might not get the same accusation?

That’s false. Garrett’s accusation isn’t particularly important here, relative to the hand itself. The $15K “theft” off her stack by an employee who had access to hole cards in real time and a potential notification system in real time, who she apparently still hasn’t pressed charges against, is pretty strong evidence. Her flip flopping on multiple key elements of her story repeatedly and being caught in numerous lies is evidence.

We don’t have proof, we do have evidence.

In fact if I played that J4o that way against him, prob 90% of the community if not 99% would agree I absolutely cheated, and he absolutely would have made accusations.

I’d be equally suspicious of a random man in that spot too, personally.

High stakes poker is a very small community. Putting someone in for $200k is not normal. Putting a rec in for that amount is not normal. Them having 0% of themselves is not normal. Man of woman.

I’d be much more suspicious if I believed the person were experienced and at least somewhat competent. A lot of the “innocent” explanation rests on her being way out of her depth.

Sure. When I had watched the previous night I was curious who they are but they did basically nothing interesting from when I watched.

Their actions since have been what has drawn the suspicion, beyond the actual hand which is obviously the most suspicious.

I truly don’t believe anyone involved thought it would blow up this much

But for the accusation of cheating, this hand would have been forgotten in a week. The only reason it got scrutinized in this way is because people assumedGarrett had some kind of special insight. But, uh, the more he talks the more it looks like he was just upset about losing the hand. Seems pretty clear he didn’t have any inside info.

The actions of Robbi and the dude who stole after the hand is what moved most people to think its cheating though.

The hand itself is obviously wild. But if Robbi just says anything normal afterward people shrug it off. But you can’t call 135k with jack high then go “lol soul read play me HU any time.”

Not gonna lie would watch a monk style tv series with CW as the lead.

I don’t see a misogyny angle here on the cheating accusation. It seems to me like Garrett is a knob who likes to imagine he was cheated. The hand itself is definitely sus as fuck though. Am I supposed to think that if that guy who’s been crushing from the #2 seat played this hand that Garrett just shrugs it off as a nice hand? It’s impossible for me to visualize that. I think he has exactly the same reaction.

It’s the part after that that looks completely fucking awful to me, and it’s cornering her or whatever happened and asking for the money back. Do we think he’s gonna take RIP or DGAF out into the hallway to give 'em a stern talking to? And then of course people are going to pile onto her in Investigative Journalist Joe Ingram’s chat stream and in NVG in a sexist way they wouldn’t if it was Cowboy Bubba Watson, but that’s not the allegation itself.

I cannot believe Ingram is on day 12+ of 10 hour nightly streams. It’s not THAT interesting.

People do that all the time in poker. Men do, they bullshit after making dumb plays that work out all the time. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. It is perfectly normal to bullshit after poker hands. It would be unusual for someone to tell the truth there. This is the type of shit that adds credence to the misogyny takes.

Sure, there is a level of “put you on AK hurr durr” or whatever. But Robbi has turned it to 11.
